i have a question and as it affects the whole gang that reads this, i’d like to solicit some input as the optimal course is not obvious to me.

there are limits to how long a piece can be and still be sent via email. it’s not a thing we can change. the limit it comes, not from substack, but from many webmail systems so if i go over, many of you will not get it.

the solution i have been using for this is to break pieces into parts and send them separately. this is easy, works, and lets everyone read everything as email.

but, it also seems to break up the flow and break up the comments. they get scattered and the discussion around ideas gets fragmented.

the other possible solution to this issue is for me to sent out what would have been part one with a message on top that it is incomplete, should be read online as opposed to via email, and then post the rest online as a single substack immediately thereafter.

this has the advantage of providing one post to read and one set of comments.

it has the disadvantage of meaning that it cannot be fully read via email and must be read online.

it’s probably slightly easier for me to do it that way, but the difference is minor.

what say you readers?

I’m going to read what you write no matter the format. Make it easy for yourself. You do all of the heavy lifting here.
