Living in Texas (I thank my lucky stars every day!) life has been a bit different and more “open”.
However, even at this point in “flattening the curve”, there are still folks who can be seen wearing masks outdoors (WHY?!) and other depressing sights.
Can you get away with just saying no and not wearing it anymore? Maybe more people will follow? I’m in a Blue state and I’ve had to push back a time or two. It’s worked so far. Or get yourself a mesh mask and play the game that way, at least you will be able to breathe! Good luck!!
I try wherever I can! I have been screamed at in panic by people quite a lot but I can live with that. I do avoid the situations where I absolutely need to put that ridiculous nappy on my face - I really do love the concept of breathing freely
I know what you mean. I'm in neon blue New York. I had been getting by with polite refusal for a while earlier this year until Hochul sent some brownshirts to harass businesses and actually slap stickers on their doors(!).
That makes me so sad. Last was in Germany (Berlin) at the end of Feb 2020. Was repeatedly invited to return (still am) and feels like it won’t happen ever or I won’t recognize it by the time I get back.
I've read that the highest positive rate in two years just happened in the past 5 days. It can't be that they still really think the masks and shut downs do anything?
They do their best to keep the narrative going. Our minister of health (a total lunatic of the worst kind) made it very clear that we will have this situation for at least the next 10 years.
I have marvelled many times at the prolific quantity and superb quality if your writing. It has been a welcome break in the clouds - I always say that if I'm going to read about depressing stuff, I'd rather it be from someone with a sense of humour. Thank you, and enjoy your rest.
