Calabresi’s fable and Conformity Waiting Room https://youtu.be/-7iN0V-GbM0

There is much proof that risk assessment skills and discernment are in short supply.

That was great, thanks for sharing

It was enlightening to watch last year even before this thing went completely off the rails. The suppression of cures and most every form of truth made it inevitable.

The harm we have perpetrated on the under 18 demographic is Nazi holocausts level.

When I was a kid, I went to an AF base for a physical, had to stay overnight. Had time to go to gym and shoot some hoops. The doors had "Zero Defect" decals. Almost broke my ankle slipping in a puddle from the leaking roof.

Zero anything is propaganda, which is covid response.

I thought it was Trump, but it continues.

Must we reset!

The under 60 demographic should know better!

Reminds me of the idiotic digital messages from Utah's Dept of Transportation every year: 0 traffic deaths -- the only acceptable goal. Even after dozens of traffic deaths have occurred within the first few months of the year, zero deaths remains the only acceptable goal. If they were serious, the minute after the first traffic death of the year occurred, the state would prohibit any more vehicular traffic on the roads. If anything more than zero deaths is unacceptable, all traffic must be halted once we've failed to achieve that goal in a calendar year.

Fauci et al. are going for broke betting they'll get the cave dwellers to believe their own act of chinese shadows.

The wisest feline at the table keeps calling and raising.

Surprised you weren't familiar with Calabresi's theories, seems like it's right up your alley. His book on this is called 'The Cost of Accidents', though it is very dry. Apparently his lectures are much better. You can find a shorter and more entertaining version of them in the book 'Anarchy and Elegance', by Chris Goodrich.

Not surprised the budding attorneys' response. The surprise is the 'numeracy' of a law professor!

Beautifully stated. We’ve created a nation of agoraphobics who unfortunately have become “true believers” in the media panic porn. I share your essays with as many of my panicked friends and relatives as I can. Hopefully they will wake up and return to the land of the living.

Long story.......

I endured jury duty on a malpractice case the upshot supposed negligence GP missed a cancerous lesion.

Long story almost locked, some in jury thought an MD should be .999999. Some of us thought find neglect would set precedent for mass testing in a demographic where the risk was .00001.

The MD was acquitted.

I am most disappointed that he pushes the benefits of vaccination when the debatable benefits are clearly less than the risks for nearly everyone, especially young women of child bearing age.

Dr Jha, head of the scientific advisory group for the state of RI, admits he is completely irrational. I mean I just thought he was corrupt all this time. Now its really hard to tell where the fear ends and the corruption begins. But at least he was able to run seminars for "policy makers and business leaders" on Covid and charge $2k a (Zoom) seat. These people are even bigger jokes than they appear on Twitter.

We didn’t cower at home. I only put a mask on if I was asked. Life didn’t change for us. And in our conservative neighborhood, we still got together for parties and pool games. The whole thing is so dumb. My husband figured out the low rate of Covid infection first. Yes, people have gotten sick and died but not like with the regular flu. But those who have lost loved ones don’t seem to understand that, probably because of the media hype.

"RE-entry" is only difficult if you chose to "exit" in the first place. I (we- family) never bought it, locked down, comply somewhat (with a one layer mask when asked), and really only tweaked our routine as to where we were going to find a restaurant that was open somewhere (if you looked hard enough you could have been eating out way back last April/May in our area). Easier on the brain for sure.

Do you mean Fauci is the "best anti-vaxer" or "worst vaxer?" Don't you have the double negative with "worst anti-vaxer?
