Totally agree with standing up but obsessive about fact checking. Fauci walked that back and declared the statement disinfo that comes with social media rumors.. Maybe Tucker aired the clip but can't be sure where it crossed my radar. Fauci clearly got push-back from some sector of lobbyists whose interest does not involve lockdown agenda, again. Anyone's guess if its the agribusiness or hospitality sectors but money talks, Some deep pockets revised it to absolutely gather safely especially if you're vaccinated.
They have other utility, though: the goal is to screw the Deplorables, not just Trump.
Problem is the collateral damage to others who are in the Good-People coalition. So they're walking a fine line. And being in a bubble, with poor information about what's going on, they're wont to drift over that line and then have to jump back.
This is why I'm perversely optimistic when they go overboard: the more nakedly authoritarian they get, the more people they hurt, the more enemies they make, and the more allies we get.
But the deplorables are led by Team Red and won't roll over to lockdown madness, just like they aren't interested in mask madness anymore.
The end result of new lockdowns would be big blue cities strangling themselves to death (like with vax pass) and the rest of the country ignoring it all.
