MPH = Masters in Public Hysteria. EGM is free and would give people a much better understanding of healthcare than a $50,000 MPH degree. Bad cat tribe is coalescing, but as the saying goes it can be hard to herd cats ;)
We are really only limited by our imaginations and what we are actually interested in obtaining. Failure tends to be self-induced. If you never surrender and never give up, chances are you will succeed. I speak from experience. I mastered the Art of Quitting, and quit doing it. Great fun! The adventure will end when I do. I am only half joking when I say there are only two kinds of people: those who agree with me, and those who are wrong!
food helps. I got a female and 2 males and they get along fine. And a dog. They do not cozy up to her like I have seen from others, but dog defends the cats against intruders and they know it.
That's such an interesting observation! I had a giant-sized German shorthaired pointer when I got married. About 5 years later we adopted a cat that my wife's friend could no longer keep. Introducing that cat to Hickory Hill's tag-A-Long was an event that always brings a big grin to my face when I think of it. That feline stood nose to nose with the big guy, then hauled off and belted him in the snout. She then turned around and with her tail in the air proceeded to inspect her new domain. She always seemed put off by his comparative clumsiness and often treated him with contempt. When it became necessary to have the dog euthanized she walked around the house for 3 days, lost and yowling in what I presume was grief. So you just never know.... (We still miss them both, but it's amazing how clean our house is!)
One thing I love about Rogan is that he doesn’t care what your credentials are. I used to listen to Tim Ferriss a lot, but he goes all wobbly-kneed at a list of Ivy degrees, and after hearing him do a fawning interview with the smug and self-important woman who destroyed Ross Ulbricht, I thought, “we need to subvert credentialism.”
Many people do not have fancy credentials *because* they are too curious and honest to tolerate the bullshit of acquiring them, or because the bestowing and gating institutions will revoke them if you don’t toe the line.
That is indeed true. But freethinkers do oftentimes come together-- for example, I am heartened to see a lot of organizations sprouting up such as Stand Up Michigan, Stand Up Maine, Delaware Medical Freedom Alliance, Health Rights Massachusetts, Texans for Vaccine Choice, Virginia Medical Freedom Alliance...and many more... it's a long list. They are so not easy to find online, especially on Big Tech SM, but people do find them.
Reminds me of homeschooler coalitions. It’s hard to get homeschoolers to agree, but once their homeschool freedoms are threatened, watch out! They’ve been pretty successful.
You are exactly right. Being proactive is easy to maintain directly after a crisis has been overcome. It seems to fall apart when the next generation or 2 take the reins. When I run into most new hsers they are oblivious to the battles that came before. I shudder when I see them with their hands out for government goodies like vouchers. But that’s always been the case, it’s how we got here. Creating oversight always leads to corruption. How can it not? It’s human nature to let someone else take responsibility for oversight while the rest enjoy the fruits of freedom. And it’s a heady drink to be in control of what constitutes freedom, especially when the previous warriors start dying off. I’ve always thought smaller groups working together is better, but somehow the urge to morph into a mega-group seems to win out. That’s where the vision/mission gets lost.
"...and those who built the world want the world back because pretending these credential factory wizards of weaksauce are going to learn from their mistakes or grow some morality is simply not an option anymore."
I'm sure there are myriad examples, but one in particular that has me up in arms (though not yet literally) is that the f'n CDC is STILL recommending the (untested, useless, dangerous) Chinese virus jab for...SIX-MONTH-OLD BABIES.
I'd like a functioning washing machine.... and a car that isn't constantly dinging b/c it's way smarter than me. I think they trained the engineering out of the engineers 🤭.
Thank you yes. When it takes four hours for them to "diagnose" and fix a problem with the automatic window controller we have a problem. I prolonged getting it fixed until I had another issue for precisely this reason. Smart, my ass.
Adaptive cruise control? No freaking way. I lived with that for four years until I realized I could turn it off, because I wasn't about to sit down and read the 600 page owner manual, so I just assumed that was the new way of cruise control. And yeah, I'm an aggressive defensive driver, however paradoxical that sounds, so my car is forever beeping at me and I've learned to tune it out.
Oh gosh no! I almost had a nervous breakdown when I rented a car with these "features". I mostly tune out the noise but when it won't pop the trunk b/c I'm not fully in park or beeps at me when there's a bush 500ft away I lose it. I am a similar driver. We drove in the days without airbags and we are still alive! Imagine that?
The first time I rented a car with "safety features" I ended up driving a winding mountain road in New Mexico. Every time I cut a curve that damn steering wheel would vibrate violently - drove me crazy! I finally had to stop and read the owners manual and figure out how to turn it off because I couldn't stand it any more. Also I'm looking for a PERMANENT way to turn off the stupid "idle stop" in my wife's new car.
On vacation, June 2019, just a normal interstate in northern California, in a rental.
Took a curve faster than the car approved of (though still completely safe, as I've done the same kind of thing countless times before in 40+ years of driving), and the f'n "safety" feature hard-braked and shimmied the steering wheel, almost CAUSING an accident.
Absolutely, or else the government regulated it out of them. My Mom’s fridge that had been in continuous use for over 50 years recently died. The one we replaced it with has a one year warranty. I presume because of limitations on the refrigerant coolants which can be used due to potential effects on “global warming.”
Not a fair statement. Distracted, sure. Scatterbrained. But not dumb. To the original point the problem is summed up in the statement I've seen on more than one manager's wall. "At some point in the design process you have to just shoot the engineer and ship it anyway."
Oh, yeah, engineering as an academic and professional field is full of woke but in the end you do have to prove yourself with functioning products. Yet as Elon proved with Twitter it's probably 25% of the people pulling the other 75% deadweight most of the time.
One of the most distressing things for our prominent elites is the way they are now routinely embarrassed by unknown nobodies. There are hundreds of thousands of people maybe millions who are better and smarter than you are, and they are watching your every move.
It’s a severe blow to a self image largely drawn from a piece of paper with Brown or Yale written on it, but little else to back it.
I have always advocated that research journal publications be made free to all citizens online through the Library of Congress. If this was done, there would be so many retracted papers and discredited credentialed authors that most of the Academic Research Industry (yes, it's now just a money machine) would collapse.
As someone who accessed jstor through a job a couple of decades ago, I gotta say that freeing up access to these papers (some of which are nearly 2 centuries old, authors long deceased and still behind a paywall) would be a great thing for many who would do their own research.
They would probably find out the same thing I did. Very often the paper, even the very old ones, are written in the same obtuse academic verbal salad that circles the point and says nothing. The only reason these materials are behind a paywall is because if everyone could see them they would realized how vacuous and null the majority of academic research is and the rot goes back centuries.
I would add exclusivity to that. I accessed one paper because it was being cited as evidence all over the place in some 'conspiracy' forums at the time, but no one seemed to have read it or know anything besides the abstract description of the paper. I got ahold of it and it was quite depressing. It turned out that there was no 'there' there, so to speak and didn't prove anything one way or the other about the subject at hand (the origins of a particular secret society I think, the convo is long forgotten). But that probably hasn't stopped people from continuing to cite it unseen. If relying on unseen papers published by trusted credentialed muppets happens in those contexts, it probably happens in others such as *ahem* Public Health, etc.
Having spent time on the academic paper treadmill, it's safe to say even the most science-y of science papers are written in a way that you can say almost nothing for 30 pages, reprove an accepted theory or maybe just move the needle imperceptibly. You can't rock the boat as a grad student for sure and most people in any given field can't themselves show up a rockstar without career repercussion. Unless you're their grad student or fellow, to which they'll just put their name on the paper anyway. Outside academia, in the real, practicing world, you have more leeway. You can write a paper on a topic where you proved something could be done. Think like SpaceX picking boosters out of the air, something the establishment for decades just said was impossible. Well, it is until it isn't.
I agree, however most of these folks are broken, damaged narcissists who live inside worlds that don’t allow embarrassment or perhaps more appropriately don’t acknowledge embarrassment.
That has been becoming even more true since those “elite” colleges have so drastically lowered their admission standards in the last few decades and seem to fill their ranks based on quotas rather than merit. It used to be that people who received diplomas from the top colleges could claim at least above average intelligence, even if they were sorely lacking in common sense. Alas, that appears to no longer be the case as these prestigious institutions of “higher” education have bowed to the DEI virus that is wreaking havoc in all sectors of society.
It is clear to see that we will have to help ourselves. I live in a place narrowly hit by the hurricane. You can see how people help each other, not waiting for anyone, and then get helped quickly, whereas people who have not even started yet, have to wait for weeks. This is what needs to be done. Build small communities again, that help themselves, and outrun the govt. Literally. Put them aside, let them starve.
We will win because frankly we're smarter and work harder. However, we're not "efficient", and thus we will have to work harder than necessary.
So I like your buddies idea, but do you think that battle is waged online and locally?....or is he talking strictly in academia?
Right now we're capable rebels...but disparate and disjointed, lacking both leadership and measurable outcomes. I also think we need to define the battlefield (so to speak) in order to pick "topographic" advantage so that we literally have grounds to develop strategy. It will have to be asymmetrical for the short term. But if these asymmetrical "pockets" don't have a common goal then these concentric circles of resistance, etc.etc, do not seem like theyll be able to overlap with each other creating the "tsunami" we want.
The reason I ask is if it's purely organic it seems as though it could take a generation or two.
I feel like there's a lot of energy and hope....but hope is simply a substitution for strategy when a biz plan or war plan does not allow for change in tactics when the facts on the ground change. And their will be changes.
it's well past academia and into the streets. in the course of my various endeavors, i speak to a lot of folks in a lot of businesses, often those who run them and there is this sort of new dance everyone is doing that reminds me of 90's modems establishing a handshake. hey, are you a real person? oh, me too! this real? how about this real?
there is a vast redpill network establishing itself and it's already running things. when it stands up and says "enough," it's going to shack some people.
We must relearn to trust and act on our instincts. Always looking and seeking for more information and understanding. We know more than we think we know.
This all seems great, if a bit Pollyanna given the constraints of human civilization. You echo my thoughts on timeline as well: a couple of generations if all goes well….which it won’t. We are a couple of working stiffs, isolated amongst tribes of normies so there is not a lot of consensus building being done at our level of middle class, Everyman. We have skills and knowledge and never once considered the Covid regime or nearly any of their regime rollouts remotely sane. We chip away at friends and family, but the big thinkers ain’t knockin’ on our door. So we make a life that is good but hardly revolutionary…and we prepare to be mobile and flexible to react to the insanity. And I come here to remind myself that there are others like us. Thanks and cheers.
I hope so…but I have also watched as the new dissidents become the new talking heads with different hairdos and demographics. Mostly, I want to be decentralized and free of the “opinion-makers” and “thinkers” who have ever been unimpressive and who would never take the opinion of one such as myself very seriously. I suppose I am very dark red-pilled (not black:).
I love and share your optimism. An awakening of historic proportions is upon us, living, breathing and growing here on Substack. Thanks and keep up the good fight, TMacro06.
I desperately hope this is correct. But there are so many who will NEVER question a bloody thing. Like my mom and sister. More have woken lately for sure. Even a far lefty I know can’t wait to move out of Raleigh because of this “woke crap”. But she also jabbed herself and her children and doesn’t regret it- still believes the experts. Although that is crumbling. She is desperately trying to blame the death and injury on Covid, but I think she knows better deep down. But for those who fell for it all, they can never admit to the bamboozle. Look at Germany. They HATE Trump. Even after Obiden blew up their pipeline and literally froze some of them to death. They would literally rather die as “good people” than live in reality. Then again, it won’t take a majority for this shift to occur. Let’s hope.
The problem is there still largely exists a "collective stupidity" of the masses (Bonhoeffer) where independent thought and critical thinking no longer exist, if they ever did; those same masses are found world-wide and are the cowardly followers who find " you will own nothing and be happy" a preferable alternative to the work and effort required to be sovereign human beings.
"they have no idea that they have no idea" A very important concept I learned in the military was the different levels of "knowing". First, and the one most overlooked is "you don't know what you don't know." I think most people live here. Then "you know what you don't know." You're ignorant, but at least you know you're ignorant. Far less people live here. But it's a required step in the pursuit of "you know what you know, and you know what you're trying to know". Because in the end, no one ever actually achieves "you know".
It's baffling to see DEI advocates and Social Justice Warriors think that all they need to do is drop an underprivileged minority into a job slot and the system will continue to hum along. This might be true in the bureaucracy or the parts of Academia that they inhabit, but not in the real world of critical systems. They will all agree that if you sidelined LeBron James and replaced him with a 5'10" drag queen from off the street, the Lakers would lose every game, but yet they think that the skills involved with flying an airplane, running a nuclear plant, or doing neurosurgery are things anyone can learn to do. A common attitude I find with the highly credentialed is their attitude towards other people's skills - "How hard could it be?". They don't know what they don't know.
Fifth stage: realizing that it's ok that you can no longer remember new, complicated concepts because the most important ideas are simple and timeless.
My husband still watches msm. Today I overheard bbc news report involving Elon Musk. Part of it was about his milllikn dollar giveaways and part about space X. They never mentioned his townhall mtg in Pittsburgh two nights ago, where must mentioned more than once the importance of free speech and the right to bear arms. The next news report, seconds later, was about someone called giovanni from strictly come dancing. The bbc gave strictly the same time it gave musk. No actually more time. Has the world gone insane? Looks like it. tells you where people’s heads are when strictly makes the mid day news. Their heads arestrictly up their as….😂😂😂😂😂😂🤡🌏🤡🌏
I earned two degrees from a top university, let's call it Big-Deal-U, something I was proud of. Right there on my LinkedIn, & etc. Alumni giving, alumni gatherings, yeah, all that. Still am proud of having worked hard for those degrees, many fond memories, and, looking back over the years, I can say that I did learn many things that I doubt I would have by any other avenue. But for me, now in 2024, after Big-Deal-U imposed jab mandates, it boils down to this: To hell with Big-Deal-U. To me now, the people running that joint are a blot on the butt of the gnat in the garbage dump of the universe.
Sorry, but anyone graduating from Big-Deal-U after the covid jab mandates, I'm going to assume that you don't know how to ask basic questions and how to think for yourself. Specifically, I'm going to assume that you probably took 3 or more of the bioweapon injections, and that even if you didn't, if you finagled an exemption, you thought it fine to subject yourself to a faculty and administration that would go along with and/or impose such foolishness and tyranny. Why? I don't think there's an answer to that that is ever going to satisfy me. Sorry, kids. You could have transferred, you could have done something else. Sleep with dogs, wake up with fleas.
Anyone who reads outside the mainstream media now knows about the injuries and deaths, and the complete and total pointlessness of the jabs. It was fraud, fraud, and more fraud. And Big-Deal-U was in on it.
In this lifetime I will never give Big-Deal-U one more penny. I will set foot on Big-Deal-U's lovely quadrangles, maybe, after the president of the university makes a public, profound, and thorough apology to the entire university community. The president of Big-Deal-U who oversaw the mandates , he shouldn't ever be able to make an apology on that nice, crisp presidential letterhead; no, he should be held accountable before the law. And in my opinion, that means he should be behind bars, and he can apologize on some scrap of paper, or through his lawyer, from there.
Do I have strong feelings about this? LOL. We sure do live in interesting times. Gracias, gato.
The craziest outcomes of post-60s ‘social justice’ – the ones that people scratch their heads about in dismay - mostly originated in the groves of academe. Things like white self-loathing-by-proxy, the fetishisation of sexual dysphoria and pseudo-therapeutic psychobabble began as fictions and fixations hatched in its humanities and social science petri-dishes. A madness of intelligentsias in other words. I have argued that our great folly was failing to foresee the long-term consequences of allowing our universities to become colonised by an intelligentsia intent on ‘cleverly’ unpicking the threads that held Western civilisation together. https://grahamcunningham.substack.com/p/the-madness-of-intelligentsias...... The academy’s pied-piper hold on the ambitious young minds of the future ‘opinion-forming’ elite – including crucially the teaching profession - has proceeded unchecked, such that its seductive virtue-signalling mentality has now taken hold in most graduate-entry professional walks of life. And an Academia-Media Complex - a feedback loop between an overwhelmingly left-wing academy and a largely left-wing MSM – has softened up enough of what used to be called ‘the workers’ to keep the Progressive show on the road. https://grahamcunningham.substack.com/p/invasion-of-the-virtue-signallers
I once had a PhD in life sciences, CEO of a company, push back on 2+2=4. He even directed me to a website of like-minded people. Our friendship ended there. Scary.
The endless sophistry, towards no end but the destruction of Chesterton’s Fence, is amusing in the dorm at 2am, but these people make a lifestyle out of it.
My counterargument would be "Well then let's use this new math to calculate your pay and bonuses, as well as the value of your company. And BTW, be sure to show this to the IRS agent during the audit. I'm sure he could use a good laugh".
MPH = Masters in Public Hysteria. EGM is free and would give people a much better understanding of healthcare than a $50,000 MPH degree. Bad cat tribe is coalescing, but as the saying goes it can be hard to herd cats ;)
Indeed.
But...vision without effort is daydreaming, effort without vision is drudgery; but vision, coupled with effort, will obtain the prize.
We are really only limited by our imaginations and what we are actually interested in obtaining. Failure tends to be self-induced. That's $50,000 a year, soon to be $50,000 per semester.

Agree, but the downside to freethinkers is that by their very nature they are hard to assemble on common ground.
That is the advantage those in the guilds and the credentialcrats have over us.
That is indeed true. Yeah that one is pure evil...just as the sexualization of children.
Absolutely. That's the sickest of all red pills when they try and normalize pedophiles as 'minor attracted persons'.
Don't be surprised if it becomes legal in California.

The only thing "smart" about smart products are the people in the Marketing Department who came up with these costly "solutions".
🙌
Like making things so complicated that the end user can't fix ANYTHING on the product.

Yeah I agree def on biz owners. That's basically who I deal with every day; other biz owners.
Definitely a change in the zeitgeist in the last 3 years. There's a "force" there...but, alas it is not quite a force multiplier....at this point.
But something is definitely afoot. However, it's sorta an amorphous energy that needs to be harnessed around common goals/themes.
We shall see.
We must relearn to trust and act on our instincts. Always looking and seeking for more information and understanding. We know more than we think we know.
you give me hope- I am still afraid of "the machine" and how powerful they have become and how brainwashed they have made many.
Likewise. And i agree....for now.
But just as this nonsense started slowly...and then all at once...so too could be its demise.
Gradually ....then suddenly... yup
History still plays a large part in the collective conciousness of the Germans. They will always be suspicious of a strong leader type.
Fourth stage: you know but you've forgotten you know, so you don't know that you know. You just act.
Spot on
Fifth stage: realizing that it's ok that you can no longer remember new, complicated concepts because the most important ideas are simple and timeless.
I thought that was called Dementia.
Classic Dunning-Kruger, which applies to most, if not all in the halls of power.
Their heads arestrictly up their as….😂😂😂😂😂😂🤡🌏🤡🌏
Excellent. Make the old obsolete by offering better alternatives. The people will gravitate willingly.
I have had enough of this: “induced fear to compel once more the trading of rights for the illusion of safety.”
Amen
I once had a PhD in life sciences, CEO of a company, push back on 2+2=4. He even directed me to a website of like-minded people. Our friendship ended there. Scary.
The endless sophistry, towards no end but the destruction of Chesterton’s Fence, is amusing in the dorm at 2am, but these people make a lifestyle out of it.
Do you mean the actual mathematical equation 2+2=4?
Yes. He was insistent. I guess my engineering and business school degrees, let alone my brain, failed me! 🤣
My counterargument would be "Well then let's use this new math to calculate your pay and bonuses, as well as the value of your company. And BTW, be sure to show this to the IRS agent during the audit. I'm sure he could use a good laugh".
Ha! I was planning to be in a shitty mood today but you made me laugh aloud. Bastard! Deaf DJ named Dung & Krueger lol.
