Just so all are aware, the major social media platforms and Big Tech have been developing image recognition tools for a long time. If you change your browser settings to "View page source" (right click on the screen for option) you'll find image analyzers that are able to read text in images, as well as detect what is depicted in the image. Here are links to two .jpgs that I saved screenshots of back in 2020 when I first discovered this feature. They improve them all the time.
Big Tech has designed and update these capabilities for many years now in China. So when it seems like we find an edge we should understand we are not alone and the resourceful freedom lovers in China have and continue to put the censors to the test...that the censors then import tools they've developed to combat free speech from China and stand ready and able to deploy by simply hitting an update button to their applications in the US.
Perhaps aside from reading substack articles about memes, memes are my favorite form of entertainment now. Powerlineblog.com Steven F. Hayward’s Saturday morning roundups are like Looney Toons for me when I was a kid.
