are constituted always and everywhere of the right and the ability of a free people to defend and separate themselves from tyranny.
yesterday, joe biden stumbled through a mostly incoherent (and counter factual) attack on the second amendment.
watch the video below.
it’s jarring in both its outright dismissal of the foundational american ideal that a free people have a right and a duty to oppose and depose unjust governments and in the clear evidence that he who controls our weapons of war and seems inclined to rattle sabers at we the people appears more than a little whimsical in the brain pan.
it’s getting awfully difficult to ignore the issue that the man in charge of the most powerful military in human history cannot easily complete a sentence with more than 6 words in it and seems meandering, gormless, and lost.
having someone in this state of compos mentis as commander in chief does not instill confidence. of course (likely by design) neither does the idea of his veep grabbing those reins.
the second amendment did not limit the type of people who could own a gun. (unless joe is referring to slaves and that sure does not seem like much of an argument for disarmament)
yes, you could own a cannon. heck, you can still own a muzzle loading cannon today. you may need a tax stamp for it.
i know a number of ski areas that own literal howitzers. they use them for avalanche control
senor joe is telling serious fibs here. it’s malarkey. come on, man.
but it gets worse as the truly dangerous sentiment here is that “we the government are too powerful for the people to resist. having guns would not help you, so give them up and let us limit you, your safety, and your ability to oppose us.”
this is a deeply disingenuous and self-refuting argument. had our founders accepted it, we’d currently be british and possibly still quartering soldiers in our homes and paying egregious taxes for tea.
and if, as joe seems to have said, to come for the US government, “you’d better have f-15’s and maybe some nukes” then what is he so afraid of anyway? why should he possibly care if my rifle holds 5 rounds or 30?
perhaps it’s because his claim is, frankly, most closely related to a substance that comes out of the southern end of a northbound steer.
if one seeks to perpetuate a free and just society, this notion of federal prowess so in excess of our own is a stronger argument for me being allowed to own an f-15 than for joe to take your high capacity magazines away.
one might well argue that if a government becomes so powerful as to have nothing to fear from its people, that it becomes a matter of when and not if it shall become tyrannical.
a great many have resisted far greater forces despite inferior armies and armamentariums.
perhaps joe might wish to solicit the opinion of the afghan people and inquire about their sobriquet of “the graveyard of empires.” or perhaps the vietnamese. or perhaps enquire of the swiss how they managed to avoid invasion despite sitting on piles of gold and residing at the middle of the WW2 dodgeball court.
but the worst gall and hypocrisy of this whole sordid sojourn into imagined history and ignored foundational philosophy lies in the outlandish claims of this president and many of his supporters that “january 6th was the worst attack on american democracy since the civil war.”
one might even go so far as to argue that having a senile sock puppet of a leader controlled by unknown and unelected parties behind the scenes who see your rights as a problem not a public good is a less than ideal foundation for a democracy, much less a republic.
the truly adventurous might even go so far as to ponder whether such a state of affairs might, indeed, pose a threat far in excess of some folks “loitering with surprising civility and restraint in a public building.”
some guy dressed like jamiroquoi strolled around the capitol and america nearly fell?
my goodness. imagine how dangerous this would have been had even one of these rascals had a gun!
this has always been a ludicrous and histrionic claim akin to portraying a cubscout jamboree as the reichstag fire.
it was always the febrile fever dream of a lunatic media spouting fascist political talking points coming from the highest office in the land in order to inflame the people into terror and action against an imagined white supremacist plot that turned out to be 90% FBI agents.
this brazen attempt to turn the patriot act upon the actual, mostly completely unrelated, patriots was always as unsubtle as it was unfounded.
but to then hear the selfsame president who leveled these outlandish accusations tell us how useless guns are against the government so threatened by the unarmed and needful of proscribing our rights to defend its own pushes the level of hypocrisy past what may be reasonably endured.
this represents an outright inversion and repudiation of the very notions of the purpose and structure of a just government residing in the consent of the governed.
the inconsistency and tactical whitewash of facts and history here is very nearly beyond parody.
the fraudulent in the white house, the enemies of the constitution imply we have weapons because we fear. we do not fear, we respect what our ancestors did to give us what we had before nov 5 2020. we will not let them down.
some of us olders know how hungarians treated red army tanks in budapest in 1956 and how they would be free had Ike not relented. some of us know why ho and giap won,
so, ccp biden see if you can find anyone to operate those f-15's, see if you can get an operator to nuke the usa. there are not that many woke in the pentagon and far less in the pointy end!
Well said, Ed. It's clearly they who fear. The whole covid oppression has been perpetrated by those who fear. We see it first hand. It's becoming clear that fear (or maybe chronic anxiety) has likely been the backdrop of the unspeakable atrocities in human history. Nagging until all human conscience is abandoned and wonton cruelty is rationalized on the most flimsy of precepts. This has been the valient fight of Team Reality. In a sane world, they'd each be awarded the medal of freedom. Maybe some day.
I pray you are right. I never thought I'd hear a president of the United States make a statement like that against his own people. Yes, he's lost whatever marbles he might have once had...not many I'm afraid...but what a comment.
They...whoever they are...have a plan and they are executing to it. The virus, the lockdowns, the masks, the riots, the election, the jabs, CRT in schools, vaxx passports, etc. were/are all meant to sow chaos and demoralize and divide us. Sadly, it has worked on a great many people.
They want a federal police force...so support your local police.
They want to takeover the military...so don't let them.
They want to indoctrinate your children...so take over the school boards.
The time for laughing at the crazies and their crazy ideas is long past. They're serious, and they've gained some ground. We've been complacent for too long. We've grown soft and distracted. We failed to appreciate what generations before us sacrificed and fought and died for. We failed to appreciate why so many people around the world aspire to come here.
(Hint to liberals...it wasn't to mow your lawns, clean your bathrooms, or care for your children.)
I used to think that gun owners worrying about the Second Amendment and gun grabs were a little kooky...until Obama.
“having a senile sock puppet of a leader controlled by unknown and unelected parties behind the scenes who see your rights as a problem not a public good…”
This is unfortunately a very accurate description of our current political situation.
As someone that lived in PR during the 70’s, we know all it takes to bring about a lot of “discomfort” is to take out the electric in the “elite” areas… ask the UTIER how they did it…..
Hmm. Do I understand correctly that Sleepy Joe is threatening the people of the US with attack by nuclear armed F-16s, because that is sure what it sounds like to me?

LOL.
when the bee agrees with you, it's a sign you're on the right track.
I ordered mine yesterday on Amazon. Should be in next week.
Twitter could not sensor the bad cat. Thank you gato for more truth.
Great stuff. I heard recently a free citizen must be a dangerous citizen.
i sincerely hope so.
freedom is where the government respects the people, where the people must respect the government that is tyranny.
the usual quote is "fear" i am too old to be afraid.

tree of liberty is watered by the blood of patriots and traitors.....

I think non compos mentis would be more applicable 😆
