As a HCW who will most likely be losing my job over all this come Dec 4 (unless something changes) it's difficult to keep my nerve some days. There has been lots of crying, yelling, not sleeping over it all trying to stay strong and not give in. And I won't, I have a good support system but it's still hard and infuriating that after only 1 year at an amazing job I have to make this shitty choice because the government wants to play little lord fauntleroy. It feels lonely a lot of the time but places like this help when you see comments from others in the same boat or those of support.

"they WANT these systems to break. they want a hospital crisis because that will create “an emergency” that allows them to step in and regulate or grab control or nationalize."

Yes. Dialectic alchemy. The religious obsession of the modern statist.

Anyway, do you know of any good actions to take (or avoid taking) to support/be there for health care workers? This field is foreign to me.

It seems we are approaching that "dark winter" Brandon kept referring to during the election. I plan to do everything I can to stay away from hospitals for the foreseeable future. Airlines too.

But, but, Newsom has told everyone in CA to get the booster. Which means that even though the winter surge will be at least as bad as last year, we get to hear in every newspaper that it would have been so much worse. And almost everyone I know will believe it. Get me outta here.

I HATE IT HERE. I’m trapped in So Cal: our crappy little $270k house would sell for well over $800k today, but husband’s job is here, as is both of our entire extended families. We’re all natives here, but feeling like strangers in our own (crappy but expensive) home.

I shudder to think what’s going to happen if any of us actually NEEDS a hospital with decent care. However, we support CHOICE, and have long applauded the brave hospital workers who have refused flu vaccines in the past and were stuck in masks (that don’t work).

Why won’t the Fates take Newsom?? (Will this question put me on a government list somewhere? 🤯)

Before considering taking the vaccine, especially for the young and healthy, read the following obituary. Yes, it is an actual obituary from a funeral home website. I'm sure this is an outliner but our 3 letter agencies are definitely downplaying the elevated and real adverse event risks as compared to traditional vaccines.

I am also one of the “evil” healthcare workers who is refusing the vaxx. I’m hoping my exemption outlasts the mandate. Fingers crossed. It’s all about the Benjamins. The hospitals will not risk losing reimbursement- they will fire whoever they have to.

It was NEVER about public health. They've been gaslighting us since the beginning…

Thank you. So many sane docs and nurses are terrified of speaking out due to threats from licensing orgs or consequences of deviating from CDC/FDA narrative. They need our support. On the other hand, you would be foolish to trust the medical blind believers. Change docs if you need to.

Bad cat, this is so spot on. And not only do we have risk from a government caused HCW shortage, but also our blood supply. Making a request- would you be interested in looking into what is going on with the nation's blood supply? I heard that California is taking blood from everyone, mRNA vaxxed or not, while some other states are only accepting donations from the unvaxxed. Is this true? What will the repercussions be? And what can we do about it, those of us who are in the control group and wish to remain so, but who might have scheduled surgeries, or emergencies, where we might need blood? Is this even an issue? I trust your kitty friends investigatory skills, so I hope to find out soon.

These mandates around the world are illegal and they know it. As Gato said, they are power grabs. What if all the HCW who don't like to be mandated, band together to form new "pop up" hospitals? Helping the soon to be influx of patients. Perhaps donations from the various Drs and health professionals speaking out against the shots can all pool some money to help buy supplies. As for the HCW that losing your jobs you love, i know it's scary and unfair and heartbreaking. I've been in the same situation- now I work on a farm to pay the bills. It doesnt stop you from still doing what you love and helping people. Your still a health care professional- so care for people, by taking care of you, sticking to your oaths and find another way/outlet to do your work. In society, when the rules are stupid and dangerous, we are obligated as citizen's, to ignore/push back on the unjust/illegal rules (which mandates aren't even rules-they are requests).

They are going to blow up the healthcare system we all 'had' to stay home for 18 months to protect.

I'm going to cancel my gender transition surgery in protest if the hospital where it is scheduled is going to follow through on this. Instead, I'll go to YouTube and figure out how to do it myself.

The message in this article is so spot on. The goal is to keep the emergency going. This isn’t about public health or improving patient outcomes. In fact it does more harm.

I had surgery on Monday. Under State and Federal Law, I signed a statement that I have the right to be informed of my health status, being involved in care planning and treatment, and being able to request or refuse treatment.

Astounding that this doesn't apply to a vaccine which is non-sterilizing and doesn't prevent transmission either.

There's also medium term epidemiological reasons for healthcare professionals to hold out that's clearly in the interest of their patients and the ambulatory population outside, not just themselves.

They recently demonstrated resistant variants showing convergent evolution from drug pressure (remdesivir in this case, but can be anything, molnupivir, ivermectin, Chloroquine etc) in immunocompromised.

This matters because while the mutation may have a fitness cost in the unvaccinated, if its allowed serial passaging through vaccinated patients facing vaccinated doctors and vaccinated nurses, it will easily acquire the mutations to offset this cost and gain general fitness that would have been impossible if a healthy mix of unvaccinated patients and healthcare workers were composing much of the stocking density in hospital setting.

In short: If you vaccinate, you are much more likely to create the conditions along with your colleagues to pass resistant strains developing from drug therapy in immunocompromised, to other vaccinees and the virus cab develop mutations to resist vaccines. You will then pass on this adaptation to the world outside making both the drugs and the vaccines useless.

https://www.news-medical.net/news/20211110/First-detection-of-SARS-CoV-2-remdesivir-resistance-in-an-immunocompromised-patient.aspx

"In short, such detailed analysis of viral genomes identified the emergence of mutation harboring remdesivir resistance, known as E802D, which arose in the immunocompromised patient with persistent SARS-CoV-2 infection. More specifically, using patient specimens, the occurrence of the mutation has been temporally linked to the treatment with this drug."
