I did not expect ever to live to the point where I would viscerally understand why anyone might uproot their family and, say, move to a place like Ruby Ridge and defend it to the death.

My awakening took longer than yours, though I have had questions throughout. What I didn’t specifically fear in 2020 was them coming for my children. Now, I feel the only way to really keep them safe would be to pretend they didn’t exist at all. The youngest children in this family were all born at home and were completely unknown to the government. As it turns out, our government has “misplaced” over 1500 children as a result of the benefits fraud scandal. It’s a fucking mess. The Ruinerwold father knew more than I did what was going down and now it’s too late. We are trapped.

The father was charged with unlawful deprivation of liberty and harming other people's health. The charges were later dropped due to his poor health." The last sentence is my favorite. But defining "preservinbg liberty" as "deprivation of liberty" is pretty tasty too.

Point taken! The father is a complete nutjob, but my point is his thought process makes a certain amount of sense to me now. If we cannot live without a DigiD, are we really free? Are his children freer now that they have one? It’s an interesting question.

Sorry...disagree completely on the boldface type. Read Dissolving Illusions by Susan Humphries, there were many doctors and much evidence stating that the smallpox vaccine was extremely dangerous. Stop comparing a disease of 100 years ago to now and giving credit to the shot for stopping it. Read the book, learn the history, read about the city of Leicester and the Leicester Method that got rid of smallpox in their city without the shot.

compared to covid vaccines, no, it's not.

not even remotely so.

deaths were in the 1-2 per million inoculated.

it killed 68 people in the US in the 9 years leading up to 1968

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/353655

covid vaxxes are more like 1 death per 15,000 and that's before we add in the VAERS undercounting.

they have killed over 12,000 in the US already (also before VAERS undercounting, the real number is likely 10X that)

nor did SPV cause long term effects or heighten cancer risk.

yes, by the standards of other vaccines, SPV was dangerous, but it also stopped a VERY dangerous disease so the risk reward was there.

but it's not even in a league with how dangerous the covid vaccines are. they're 100-1000X the risk of SPV to treat a disease that's so much less severe as to also be incomparable.

i think you're misunderstanding what i wrote.

Expand full comment

You missed his point. SPV was largely useless in stopping smallpox, but it was also mostly harmless (your point). Killing 7 people per year leading up to 1968 is a blip, like the blip on my left arm from the thing. What killed off most infectious disease in the West were civil engineers building clean drinking water systems, lowering the constant insults to the immune system from bad water, so that diseases that were deadly under load became much less so. The graphs in Dissolving Illusions are almost as good as those generated by a clever feline.

If the Covid vaxxes were useless (which, at this point, would be an improvement in performance for them) but harmless, I'd take them to avoid some of the repercussions that have affected my life. I'm trying to get good data on SinoVax's harm levels; I know that's useless but if it's 1 in 10,000,000 killed then the risk might be worth it.

Expand full comment

May 23, 2022·edited May 23, 2022

Flowerchild - "1) If people take the 3 cov shots which destroys their immune system, what happens when they take the pox shot?" OMG. I had not thought of that, but I bet THEY did. I just checked at the CDC website, because I couldn't remember - I thought that the smallpox vaccine was a live virus vaccine. It is. "The vaccine is made from a virus called vaccinia, which is a poxvirus similar to smallpox, but less harmful. The smallpox vaccine contains live vaccinia virus, not a killed or weakened virus like many other vaccines." So, it is a live virus, NOT the actual smallpox virus, but not weakened or killed virus either - and now, so many people have had their immune systems destroyed. If I had had the shots, I would NOT be taking any live-virus vaccines - because, how bad would it be / could it be? We don't know. I would not want to be the one to try it and find out. On the one hand, if the immune system is wrecked, then you get some other vaccine and maybe you can't gain the immunity you hoped for because your immune system doesn't work any more - but - if it is a live virus, and your immue system is not working as it should, then the virus can hit you harder than it otherwise would have - scary thought. Many people just don't know this, but remember those "sugar cube" polio vaccines - they were live virus but weakened virus - every year, some people died of that vaccine from the "weakened" virus killing them. A baby gets the vaccine, and grandma, who is immunosuppressed, visits with baby, gets the virus, gets polio because her immune system can't fight off the "weakened" polio. After decades of saying how cool that live virus polio was, because even people who didn't take the vaccine still got it anyway, we get "herd immunity" and all that - after decades of saying how cool it was, they finally gave it up and went back to the original killed-virus vaccine which is much safer. But now, if more people are immunosuppressed from these recent/current pharma products, future vaccines could be much more risky for many people. This has all been planned so carefully - I think they knew. Vaccines that rely on dead viruses may not work as well, though perhaps no harm, just won't help if your immune system won't respond, but vaccines that rely on live viruses, could lead to some real horrors.

There's no contradiction here. Fauci's decision making is entirely consistent. There's the public health risk/reward, and there's his own risk/reward. The key insight is to realize that for Fauci (and the vast majority of other high level bureaucrats), the latter takes precedence over the former. That's how they become and remain high level bureaucrats. This is why he's useless for public health, because, when push comes to shove, he'll make decisions based on politics, not on data. There's no way Fauci would ever stand up for a politically unpopular, but correct decision, per the whole masking fiasco.

It's when we try to put every "looks like" into the same library catalogue decimal number (see how old I am?) that we get into real trouble.

Also, some people really are both batshit crazy and genuinely evil, which does not preclude them making some genuinely insightful analyses about the world, and power structures, and the forces aligned against any attempt to discern truth.

It's always bad to hurt people. Sometimes, unfortunately, it's necessary to neutralize bad people. The problem is always who makes the determination and what justifies giving them any power.

Many things in life, in the larger scale, are not solvable. One must fortify oneself to accept some dreadful losses in the service of protecting real liberty of the individual.

For example, and this is something that causes me real grief on a daily basis: the number of parents torturing and killing their children. A new horror reported every day.

But it's an equal horror of a different sort to give the state overwhelming power to come in and seize your children based on the reporting of civil servants tasked to judge your fitness on a scale of their own devising. And they, themselves, cannot guarantee any true safe harbor for those kids.

Life. It's brutal. Always will be.
