I liked when some dimwit asked a Trucker (who cannot love the Truckers) so how long are you going to stay in Ottawa and he replied "Remember how it took 2 weeks to flatten the curve....?". That is pure mathematical genius right there, so don't be alarmed. Go Truckers!!!!

Expand full comment

That's awesome!! I think I'll use the same thinking about paying taxes too.

Expand full comment

I keep thinking we should all take the free masks and test kits, wrap them inside printed 1040 forms and mail to IRS as tax payments. Sign Joe’s name on them.

Expand full comment

What? The 2 weeks to flatten the curve was for our own good and was based on science. The 100 day thing that was good too. The vaccines may not have worked but they are great and everyone should be made to get one.

How could you not know these things? Don't you watch the news? Besides that The Party says it was all good. Would have gotten a lot better a lot sooner but some people didn't want to do what they were told. You aren't one of them are you?

You betcha, bob's yer uncle.

Expand full comment

I've always wanted to know what "Bob's yer uncle" meant. is it sarcasm?

Expand full comment

It's British in origin and loosely means: Voila / There you go / And there it is / No problem / Easy to achieve. The origin is the problem of nepotism. It is said to be linked to when Lord Robert (Bob) Salisbury appointed his nephew to an important post and the reaction of the commoners was that you could get whatever you want when Lord Bob was your uncle. Eventually it evolved to a number of uses, often, "there ya go." Professor suggested "some people didn't want to do what they were told. You aren't one of them, are you?" The reply: You betcha, bob's yer uncle.

The new 'thinking':

I read the ingredients on packages and won't buy anything with chemical food colorings or artificial flavoring. I just don't want to put that stuff in my body.

I try my best to avoid process foods and I will not under any circumstances buy a product that does not list ingredients on the label.

And those GMO's, well I think the science is still out on that stuff so I try to avoid GMO foods. I know Monsanto says it's safe but I don't trust a big corporation like that. They may be lying .

Did I get vaxxed? Of course I did. No, I don't know the ingredients. Yes, Pfizer is a big corporation. The government said it was safe and effective and Pfizer tries to help people with medicines.

Expand full comment

So true. My friend met all these "modern day hippies" at a class she was taking. They are into completely healthy food...but they all got the jab. It doesn't make sense.

I read that Pfizer got a patent on 18500 of the jabbed people. God knows what they will do! Manipulate them some way ?

They now can use their genetic material to make vaccines and other therapeutics. Gratis, thanks to the Supreme Court. I think that is what I read. An abomination.

A neighbor mom was telling me how she tries not to take "anything" when she has a headache. So here is a person who is against "polluting" her body with ibuprofen, then a few days later she is sprinting to the nearest clinic to get her 5 year old vaccinated. 🤔 Then, sadly her daughter got Covid after having had both shots.

Expand full comment

I was just thinking of how to convince some people not to jab their children. Question them. Do you think aluminum is healthy to ingest? Do you know that cooking in aluminum pots is unhealthy because microscopic particles can get in your food? Do you know there is aluminum in most vaccines? Do you think ingesting mercury is healthy? Do you know it is in vaccines? Do you know what polyethilene glycol is (PEG)? It is a not so safe ingredient in shampoo. Half of the tested shampoo still has residue of the very poisonous, flammable and explosive ingredients (one is 1.4 dioxane I think). Do you think that is a safe ingredient for vaccines? Do you know what graphene dioxide is? It looks somewhat like miniature razor blades. Do you know it is in the covid vaccines? If you know all this would you give these shots to your child?

Expand full comment

That person's head would be spinning! :)

Expand full comment

Why is it sad that a 5 year old got Covid? 5 year olds are supposed to catch colds. The sad thing is if her immune system has been damaged from her injections and she is permanently vulnerable to otherwise trivial infections.

The really sad thing is her mother's appreciation- "It could have been so much worse."

My daughter's friend just got Covid-Omicron-whateverthedamnthingis--50 something woman, also her 28 year old daughter got it, as did her 7 month old. I enjoyed walking into Costco today. Giant signs on either side of the entry door that masks are absolutely required regardless of vaccine status. Hubs and I walked right in maskless (we're also vax free, although the door guards wouldn't know that). Interestingly, they said nothing to us and didn't have masks to hand out. As we did our shopping, we noticed we were the ONLY people in the place without a mask. Yet no one looked at us askance, or said anything, no hysterical Karens in sight today. This is a Costco that has had no mask signs and almost no mask wearing for over a year, so I don't know what accounted for the masking on everyone. But I definitely enjoyed bucking the trend.

These idiots just do not get it. Masking does not bend anything, at least not down. At best, masking leaves the curve alone. More likely, masking bends the curve up. How can that be a good thing?

Expand full comment

It's a good question I've been asking since April 2020 -- As long as hospitals aren't overrun, don't we want to be over with this as quickly as possible? Why would we want to extend the crisis with lockdowns and masks (if they worked) as long as the hospitals weren't in danger?

And even NYC, at the point of lowest acquired immunity and speeding up their curve by infecting all the at-risk at once, didn't overwhelm their hospitals. (Though it was close) The idea that hospitals will be overrun now but weren't then is completely illogical.

Expand full comment

Please stop using logic immediately, and follow The Science™! Seriously though, the point you make is one I tried to make back in May 2020 in this piece. (https://libertarianinstitute.org/articles/what-did-society-benefit-by-social-distancing/) I was about a month late, compared to you, in formally asking the question. The initial marketing and positioning of social distancing, masks, and all related NPIs, placed them as mitigations for "hospital overcrowding," as you so accurately note. As is typical of government edicts, their usefulness and/or necessity creeped thereafter. Those containment strategies went from being able to "flatten the curve" to being used to "stop the spread," with nary a single iota of data, facts, or analysis to support the decision! Basically, we experienced a gigantic case of "if you give a mouse a cookie" but the cookie was the length of time wherein masks, sanitizer, and distancing were supposed to work. The answer is, they NEVER work, but the acceptance of doing them "for a little while" morphed into doing them damned-near forever. And here we are...

Expand full comment

At least you can still prove you said it. All my content got blasted off the internets. I can't even download my own tweet history! Crazy.

Edit: The day Inslee ordered the field hospital at Century Link field dismantled, I knew there was no chance our hospitals would be overrun. If there was even a 1% chance Inslee thought they would be needed, they would have remained up.

It’s a psychiatric disorder called ‘Canute’s Delusion Syndrome’ - CDS. Canute was a 10th Century Anglo-Danish King, Christian and very devout, whose courtiers believed that since he was appointed by God, he must have divine powers and control over Nature. To disabuse them of this, he had his throne set up on the beach and commanded the incoming tide to stop. Of course he didn’t have two weeks just two hours, but in any case everyone got their feet wet. He said: “Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws.”

Our empty and worthless latter-day kings confident in their own divinity have CDS, therefore believe Nature, be it a virus or the climate system can be bent, curved, flattened, stopped, controlled according to their divine will as supported by their High Priests of The Science™️. What we didn't realize - because we didn't scroll down and examine the fine print - is Ron Klaine's 100 days is on auto renew with no expiration date. And bending the curve means constantly changing message. Eventually we will peter out and expire. Then toasts all around the swamp. Hope that fatarse had lots of vaxx.

It's more of the same, making the statistics say what they want, numbers per million hospitalized without any adjustment for the elderly who are already sick and couldn't be vaccinated (safe and effective!) And claiming there are so many more vaccinated compared to pure bloods that of course there will be more vaccinated!

If course, if the "vaccine" actually worked as in it was sterilizing, there would be almost none of them in the hospital even if 99% of the population were vaccinated.
