And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grammes a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it. Parsons swallowed it easily, with the stupidity of an animal. The eyeless creature at the other table swallowed it fanatically, passionately, with a furious desire to track down, denounce, and vaporize anyone who should suggest that last week the ration had been thirty grammes. Syme, too—in some more complex way, involving doublethink, Syme swallowed it. Was he, then, alone in the possession of a memory? The fabulous statistics continued to pour out of the telescreen.”
Whoa. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but that demonstrates a new level of desperation on the part of the censors. Clearly, it struck a nerve. I wonder why 🤔
My brother and I postulated last night that the FB/Twitter/IG conglomerate is very quickly suiciding itself into obsolescence. There aren't a huge bunch of untapped young progressive sitting on the sidelines waiting to join F/T/I, if only the environment weren't better regulated. We predicted in about 3 years the only people left on Facebook and Twitter will be 12 employees constantly flagging each others' posts for racism and misinformation and scowling at each other in the break room over their quinoa salad.
Great question! I’m not the best person to ask as I eschew social media and only post my articles and dash ;-)
I know Steve likes Gab. I wasn’t too fond of the interface and have only posted there a couple of times but should probably revisit it.
From what I’ve heard, though, Telegram is *the* place to be, starting with the channel shared by Dr. Mike Yeadon, Cory Morningstar, and Robin Monotti: https://t.me/robinmg/
Telegram is incredibly frustrating although most surely the place for raw unfiltered info. But you have to join channels, much like you have to subscribe to substack, but then you get notifications almost continually. I follow a heap of channels and have hundreds or even thousands of posts to wade through if I am game to open it up. Mostly needing to go to the internet to check out thoroughly and it becomes a mind fuck to the nth degree.
yes, using it for one or two channels is probably good, but I am very lacking in the necessary discipline. Almost all the banned people are on there, and hey, if they are banned they are fine by my view. Follow, leading to having uncontrollable info fires to to put out if I even open it up.
The whole internet is a problem for me, but things like wassap (which I no longer have) Discord and Telegram get out of control.
*lol* Information quicksand! Sounds highly hazardous to productivity 😆
Fortunately, I have a subscriber who monitors Telegram, Twitter, and other outlets and sends me all the stories pertinent to my areas of interest—although even managing the flood of curated content is overwhelming! I tuck them away in their respective folders and will dive in when I get around to addressing that particular topic, if ever.
Becoming part of the Substack community has been profoundly rewarding as I have connected with countless kindred spirits, gathered valuable resources, and learned more than I ever expected—all while building my audience! It’s a win-win all around—except for the toll it takes on my writing time ;-)
That said, Substack is the only place I spend time commenting (besides OffGuardian, The Burning Platform, or similar outlets when they run my pieces) as I feel it offers the most in return for my time, and I honestly can’t stop myself as the content and commentary are so irresistible!
Katie, I don’t know how to use Telegram either 😆 I haven’t signed up yet because I don’t like things that require me to use a phone app, but it does let me view channels without interacting, so that let me get a peek at https://t.me/robinmg/ at least.
Substack is a breeze! They intentionally make it easy for non-techhy people to use. Give it a shot and see what you think :-)
They want your phone to send a code to sign in. I said I didn’t want to get notifications when it asked. It looks complicated. I may make the move to Substack then. Thanks for the recommendation.
I can't use wassap any more (on the desktop, which is the only place I used it) because they stopped support for windows phone. And then VIBER did the same thing. But Telegram hasn't done that to me. Yet.
The Viber support person suggested that I put my sim card in someone else's smart phone and validate the desktop app, and then swap back.
I've gotten so distrustful that when I see questions about the "best places to migrate to" I ask myself, "Is this a mole asking this question? Is this an agent of the creepy ministry of information? I know that's awful. It says a lot about how openly committed the politboro is to crushing open debate, free speech, and dissent.
That said, I like Not the Bee Social. It's civilized and the participants are as likely to post recipes and kitty pictures as links to articles about the Nebraska AG's opinion green lighting doctors' right to prescribe any FDA approved drug for any on label or off label purpose they deem medically useful.
It is sad that we’ve been reduced to feeling paranoid about the most innocent of questions. That said, I can vouch for Guttermouth (and hopefully, she can vouch for me) 😆
And maybe I’m overly naive, but I have detected very little glowing at Substack, and when they do appear, they are shaking BigPharma neon pom-poms so vigorously, it’s impossible to miss them ;-)
I’ve never heard of NTBS. I’m trying to avoid rather than add more social media venues, but I’ll make a note of that in case I get unpersoned on Twitter/FB and need to seek out alternatives.
When you say reach the right channels, what do you mean?
I find the only 'social media' I can take these days is comment sections, like this one. I like those of several substack authors, I like that of James Howard Kunstler's Clusterfuck Nation blog (that twice weekly blog is a must read) and I am a long time lurker on the zero hedge comment section. Also like to read the comments on JoNova's climate blog, although mostly to get upset and rave at the screen.
I don't comment there. I also read the comments on unz dot com and several writers there are good to keep up with.
Also read a lot of you-tube comments, and sometimes comment there.
Trump seems to have bought Parler, (according to Mark Dice) and is going to work with rumble, so where ever he goes the crowd will follow. He could have destroyed twitter way back when. The fact that he didn't is another point of contention I have with him.
I have watched a few snippets of his podcast and it seems cool enough, but life is short and content is much. But the three you listed for sure. And the SJW fails are good from TZ

Tyler Zed just got his meme account banned on Facebook for posting the old "it's not an instruction manual" meme about 1984. That's literally all.

😂 My thoughts exactly. Bring it on!
As someone with a strong motivation to reach the right channels, what venues are you excited about as the best places to migrate to?

Sounds dreadful. Already I have too much content to wade through.
Thanks for the warning and good to know! I just keep the Dr. Yeadon/Robin/Cory channel open in a tab and scan it every so often. Much less intrusive.

Fab suggestion thank you!:~)
you comment here though, and that's how you have grown. I found you through your comments.
And how glad I am that you did!

Well I signed into Telegram. Not sure how to use it. Is Substack hard to use?

you seem to be using it for a while now.
I assumed she meant for writing posts :-)
Telegram and Substack, with a side serving of Gab

Maybe that would work.

If you enjoy the Babylon Bee humor, it's a community that was specifically created around it, but as Barbls said, gets pretty far afield. :)
Sounds dangerously addictive—I’d better stay away if I ever want to find time to write again! 😆
yes, the trouble here too, I must say
I love NtB. And I understand your paranoia, and don't blame you for it one lick.

You're 100% correct. Government control is turning them into MySpace much faster than the free market would have.
lol. love it.
You forgot about the bots and the neura-link humanoids and the other programmable species.
6 of those 12 employees are those. It's why they can't seem to get fired.
That’s insane…. I put that bumper sticker on my car 😂
Watch out, it might get repossessed 😆
I was just thinking about that 😂😂
Tyler Zed has become a thrice weekly watch for me. It's fun to see him become whatever he will turn out to be.
Meme Review, Try not to Laugh, and You Laugh, You Lose have actually become family traditions in our house.
I have watched a few snippets of his podcast and it seems cool enough, but life is short and content is much. But the three you listed for sure. And the SJW fails are good from TZ
