When you said a "rational part of the state," I was almost afraid you meant Santa Fe. I live north of Santa Fe. Nothing much rational here. I thought the elections would be a referendum on the crimes & misdemeanors of Wuhan-Grisham (I never heard that before and I'm stealing it). I honestly don't think the elections were stolen. I know enough misguided, foolish people here who were all for her and her cronies. .
I live in SENM where it’s all common sense, rational, salt-of-the-Earth farmers, ranchers, cowboys, oilfield workers, dairy. Sheriffs in all SENM counties refused to enforce Wuhan’s mandates for masks, closures, etc. We were relatively unscathed (but for the emotional trauma of the whole damn thing) but it was a whole different thing in Albq & ESP Santa Fe! O hell no, SF could be the Kommie Kovid Kapitol!!!

Who knows? All the craziness has made me desperately long for a real third party that might represent my views. I wrote Heinrich, our other senator. His defense of shots, boosters, masks, etc in the face of the unraveling narrative just about makes me vomit. I called his office in DC but no one answered. The other Wuhan Lujan got the full force of my wrath. Well, not him, but his poor intern. As if anything a constituent says who isn't in full agreement with the trends matters.
We just have to realize & accept (I’m sure you & already realize, if not accept) that this beautiful & spiritual state is deeply corrupt @ every level: governor, legislature, mayors, courts & that they will absolutely never listen to citizens like us. They don’t even care about the idiots who support them. I’m sure they laughed their asses off @ all who slavishly complied, ESPECIALLY in SF. And wanted to punish those of us who protested & refused compliance
We had a more or less decent, honest-ish senator in Tom Udall I thought. Lujan and Heinrich are getting rich, richer, richest there in the swamp. And don't even get me started on that idiot Leger. She appeared to do something right re the Hermit Peak Fire, but I don't think it would have mattered who was in office with that debacle.
Yvette Harrell, the only Repug in the state was screwed out by “redistricting” that re-drew the SNM to include parts of Albq, that had ZERO common interests w/ SNM. It is a travesty. But Wuhan is in a bad spot: she wants desperately to “go green” but the reality is the SENM oil & gas funds almost 1/2 the annual budget (esp for “education”). What is a wanna-be greens to do? Try to make it up w/ legal marijuana & abortion-tourism??
