That's odd... Why do you pardon someone who allegedly hasn't done anything?

You can't. The Constitution does not grant that power. It specifically only allows a President to pardon offenses.

The purpose of the Richard Nixon pardon wasn't to spare Nixon personally; it was the notion that the investigation would be bad for America because of all of the infighting it would inspire.

"Avoiding investigations" is also the purpose of these pardons. It's not so much about whether Anthony Fauci goes to jail; it's about the fact that an investigation that formally enters his actions into evidence would be massively discrediting to The Party.

They claim, because Trump is going to go after the poor public servants as retribution for standing up to him and fighting for America. And about 40% of the population will believe that.
