Ah, NOW that is a different argument than I originally took it for. DC and those who dwell therein is different from cities/states long suffering under one party rule. The two parties in DC are nothing more than “good cop/bad cop” working for the same bosses, “the uniparty” some call them, others “the swamp”.

However, voting records are of no meaning. After the republican’s won the Senate under Obama I thought the dreaded passport revocation the dems tried to sneak through at least 3 times was dead. Nope, republican Orin Hatchfinally got it done through some very dirty tricks that they do not tell you about in civics class. One of his failed attempts was through substituting the text of the bill being voted upon. This is wear a bill that has been debated is brought up for a vote but the text of the bill is replaced with that of another under the name of the first. Meaning that Senators vote on a bill with the title of the bill they have debated but the text of the bill is different from what they debated and think they are voting for or against. At least one other attempt also failed but I can not recall what technique he tried that time. The first time failed because someone in the Senate caught on early enough for it to be voted down. The second time and perhaps a third were passed by the Senate but caught by the house republicans during reconciliation. Finally he got it through and Obama signed it into law. I have other examples but the point is, they know not what they are voting on as a changes, slight to complete are made to the bills between debate and vote and it just is not possible for those voting on them to know of all of them. Pelosi’s “We have to pass it to know what is in it.” Is quite literally true. Which is proof enough that Congress is dysfunctional and completely derelict in carrying out its Constitutionally appointed duties. Bills are to be debated and voted upon by their merits, not whatever text is eventually replaces what was debated or attached, amended whatever afterwards.

The points about Desantis are interesting but I bet there are are parts of the story. Can a State even get any of the other, cheaper treatments when entirety of the federal government doing all they can to prevent their usage? If Florida put in a domestic order, as I understand it, the feds would step in and prevent it from happening. If Florida tried to get it from over seas, even if delivered with a private shipping company it would have to clear customs and as I understand it, Customs is preventing these from entering the country as much as possible. They can not catch very single individual purchases but a purchase made by a State could not be missed even by a drunken blind old salt filling in as customs inspector for the port for the day.

Agree with you completely. Those same 'Reps" in Congress have corrupt counter parts throughout state govt's as well. Earmarked lobbyist agenda money is funneled to all states, gerrymandering goes on in every state in both parties etc... Regarding Fla he would have to take a public stand which he will not. That is what happened in Nebraska. I am not sure of the specifics but went something like this: Governor requested public health agency who requested AG to look into the over reach and threat of MD, NP, PA licensure for treating patients early and at home. The AG protected that right which at that time and hopefully still stopped the corrupt medical and nursing boards from threatening clinicians. Not a peep from 'conservative' msm on this while at the same time they were fawning all over Desantis. Trust me when I tell you I hope I am wrong but I doubt it and I don't believe we have had a truly elected president in a very long time. There are so many people spewing garbage on here towards progressives like myself but pay no regard to the surveillance state ushered in by R's and D's, Citizen's United which cemented oligarch control ushered in by R's and D's and the list goes on and on. There is only one way out of this cess pool we are in and it it is people all persuasions in the streets together but I am losing faith in that too.

Elections have been crooked for a very long time. In the early 80s my life along with those of my siblings were threatened when our guardian, serving as an election judge asked, “What’s this?” When ballots where brought in through a back door after the polls closed. The county big wig looked our guardian in the eye and said, not whispered though not yelled, “(Name_, you know exactly what this is and if you don’t what anything to happen to (my name) and (the names of my siblings) you’ll keep your mouth shut.” Standing next to the speaker was the sheriff who also stared at our guardian. The county I grew up in had never voted in a Republican into office since the civil war, which if you know history, is quite a statement.

While in the Navy here in Japan, none of the Federal write in ballots for the presidential election requested by afloat commands arrived in time. Clinton (Bill) was reported to have gotten a huge amount of the military vote. If what we saw here in Yokosuka, then he only got a huge percentage of the military vote who were allowed to vote.

Being a civil war buff, I have somewhat recently ran across a huge election fraud scam conducted against New York soldiers in the Civil War. It was discovered by a State official who was sent to investigate strange goings on with voting among his state’s soldiers and lead to several convictions. It is an old game that if we had better education on the subject, would be much easier to deal with.

I agree with you 100%. This is kind of strange but we had exposure to the corruption as kids too. My father went from rags, to riches to rags. In the riches part of his life before all fell apart he was the chief of staff of a republican congressman. It was impossible after that to grow up without realizing what a sham it all was. I appreciate the dialogue. I will be happy to vote for any letter if they aren't corrupted but that is a big ask. I try to stay positive by recognizing that people calling it all out are on both sides of the aisle: Dr Kory D, Dr Mcoullough R, Rubin I think R, Bigtree D etc... I can't see that letters matter anymore.

I doubt that he threatened to have anybody killed though, especially kids.

I have long thought that the only difference between most Ds and Rs are the roles they are assigned by central casting.

That is the best description I have heard. I am very sorry you were directly threatened as a kid. I wish I could say it surprises me but it doesn't.

I didn’t know of it at the time. I knew something happened but had no idea what nor even what it was connected with until I told my guardians of the shenanigans with voting while in the navy. That just wasn’t something you can trust a child to keep secret nor should you tell them of such danger any way.
