Well, only natural agents are natural. Just because it comes from Nature doesn't mean it's good for you. Just ask Socrates and his hemlock tea. Would you like some Amanita "death cap" mushrooms with your pizza? Etc.

True. There are deadly poisons in nature. You have to know your herbs and leave alone everything poisonous and their look alikes. I tend to buy my herbals from a pharmacist-herbalist, to make sure I have the right thing, and only use from the yard what I am absolutely sure of. When I moved here, the first book I got from the library is one with edible and one with poisonous plants, just to be on the safe side !

Your pun is not far from the mark. The root of the word, back to the Greek, is "pharmakon" meaning "drug." Of course, then as now, the difference between a useful drug and a poison was the dose.
