So, NBA more qualified than Nobel Laureate inventor of PCR test? Same inventor that said PCR should never ever be used for infectious diseases?

CDC more qualified than Nobel Laureate inventor of PCR test?

Fauci more qualified than Nobel Laureate inventor of PCR test?

BigPharma more qualified than Nobel Laureate inventor of PCR test?

No one should have ever used PCR test. That is the major point, not cycles.

Shame how brainwashed everyone really is, even those on the right team.

Once told to me by a senior government regulator:

"I work for the government, I'm paid to be paranoid".

They commonly overdo their response by orders of magnitude. It's lost on them the costs and unintended consequences of pursuing this approach.

Expand full comment

This is the main guiding principle of Fauci's entire half-century career, to gin up fear by any means necessary.

Expand full comment

A cogent observation. Some of this is driven by law, such as the Delaney Clause (look it up if you care). As the old saying goes, any good idea can be carried too far. Extremes of prohibition have (presumably) benefits but also often unacknowledged, ignored or simply ignored costs or other consequences. The same is true for extremes on the opposite end, probably.

Relevant the Covid-19 fiasco, it's probably safe to say that the FDA and similar medical regulators have gone quite the opposite way. Leaving deliberate malicious intent out of the argument for now, it is highly likely, if not certain, that existing regulations (including the emergency ones) were weaponized to enrich a select few (Big Pharma) and their collaborators elsewhere in corporate-government.

It's a cruel irony that, if as observers like Malone describe, the regulations have been hijacked so that life-saving but low-profit products were denied and high-profit and often harmful products and procedures were pushed on patients. The very agencies tasked with insuring the safety of medical devices instead has been co-opted into pushing highly profitable but often harmful "medicine."

Just listened last night. Also highly recommend the earlier Malone interview on Bret Weinstein. I hope people have made archival copies of these podcasts. And transcripts. I'm no expert at psychoanalyzing people, nor have I read much about Malone. From his own Substack, it's clear he has a grudge (perhaps a legitimate ones) perhaps, about how his early research contributions were stolen or he was otherwise denied credit. Beyond that, however, I think we can give him credit for being a virtuous knight fighting the dragon. What other profit motives might he possibly have? He does mention his Substack and other feeds. Perhaps these bring in a little money. But so far as I know, he's not touting a book, nor is he plugging his own website selling information or products. On the other side of the battle, the Dragon (Big Pharma and their minions in government, media, etc.) have plainly apparent profit motives. The Dragon is rent-seeking and power-lust writ large, and I wish Malone and other St. George wanna-bes the best of luck in slaying the beast.

My former doctor told me if he did enough testing he could find something "wrong" with basically everyone (this had nothing to do with Covid). Testing is generally used when there are indicators of pathology, or sometimes as a preventative measure (e.g. mammograms). I don't believe that is true. DeSantis required transparency. Test outfits were required to print the cycle threshold number so that patients and Doctors could laugh at those test outfits that were jacking up the Ct levels to generate absurd results and were therefore ripping them off. im from the UK so dont know much about the specifics of Florida law/treatment etc however there are many likely reasons, he let it blow through without restrictions, thus the population has seen it before, better immunity. this did create quite a few deaths 1st round, this is normal and even more normal in a population with lots of elderly. another reason would be that its very sunny so the population would have higher Vitamin D lvls. another would be the uptake of monoclonal antibodies. im sure others could point to other reasons

Ray, here in Florida, our last peak covid happened during the summer months when almost everyone is inside to stay cool. As the summer past, the "cases" went back to baseline. However, as "snowbird" season began, the "cases" are spiking again. Our friends from up north are bringing their covid to spread around to us year round residents. It's a two edged sword. Florida needs the tourism money to survive, but it does come at a price. Happy New Year to you and yours in the UK.

The reason cases are spiking in Florida is because the Omicron virus is very fast spreading. They are rising everywhere very quickly because of this. In a couple more weeks they will fall very quickly just as they have in South Africa.

I'm a Florida resident too. A couple times I've done the simple exercise of calculating the actual deaths using official statistics vs. the census population. I usually get an annual "death from Covid-19" figure very close to 0.15%, which agrees with the figures of many others. It is worth mentioning that the average death rate is about 0.9% all-causes. Those "official" death counts leave much to be desired, but taking them at their word, it meant that at most about 1/6 of deaths were "Covid" which means, when you dig deeper, the old, the frail typically with several existing health conditions.

-after downplaying it early, he went overboard the other way in March, calling it "a terrible plague," never true but it fanned hysteria.

- Passed the Cares Act, which subsidized both the over counting of C19 and the destruction of the economy.

-Failed to order CDC to reduce PCR threshold, to stop counting asymp cases, to stop counting "with" hosps amd deaths.

-Failed to stand up for our constitutional rights, even verbally, let alone by sending the DOJ after tyrannical govs and mayors.

-Supported the corrupt vaccine rush, while doing nothing to support early treatment being used effectively by clinicians around the world.

He made these mistakes early on because he is intellectually lazy. He failed to correct them because doing so would have necessarily involved admitting he made a mistake. He wasn't enough of a statesman to do that.

He relied on the worst of junk science but our "public health experts", an oxymoron if there ever was one, quickly adopted his method. PCR tests today use primers (short nucleotide sequences) that aren't derived from purified, isolated SARS-CoV-2. Whether purposeful will probably never be provable. Nor (definitively) whether it came from a Wuhan lab. However, the alleged and confirmed behavior of the Chinese ca. December 2019-Jan. 2020 alone lends strong circumstantial evidence to a lab accident. The FOIA-ed emails obtained from the NIH chronicle (ca. Feb. 20202) that Fauci, Collins et al. were notified of the chance of the virus not being natural, and then hastily convening a meeting and basically bullying everyone into maintaining silent on the issue; threatening scientists with loss of funding is a pretty credible threat coming from a man who largely controls all the funding in the nation. The Lancet opinion piece decrying any claim of a lab origin as some awful "conspiracy theory" can be thought of as being the propaganda cherry on this mound of cover-their-ass bullshit. Fauci & Co. actions are precisely as one would expect guilty parties to behave, thus lending a second, completely independent confirmation of the lab leak conjecture being the most probable explanation.

Bloggers like Ron Unz would have us believe it was a rogue bio-warfare attack by the US upon China. While it's of course possible, it is an unnecessarily complicated explanation. He claims the alleged lab leak is just a cover story. Believe what you wish, but I've offered two very strong circumstantial proofs that the virus came from a lab.

If you really want to laugh or cry, read "Universal Coronavirus Vaccines-An Urgent Need" appearing Dec 15 in the NEJM. It's coauthored by none other than one Anthony S. Fauci, M.D.

Among the characteristics listed for this Universal Vaccine are: prevents clinical disease, prevents variants, elicits a rapid response(no post vax danger period), induces immunity to multiple viral components(not the spike only), safe for pregnant women, one dose, lifelong mucosal immunity, can be used in the immunosuppressed, prevents transmission. I wonder when all this became evident to heir doctor? It also sounds like an endless money grab in a quixotic quest for the vaccine promised land just like his 40 yr, fruitless quest for an AIDS vaccine.

The article also says, "The limitations of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines suggest that they will ultimately need to be replaced by second-generation vaccines that induce more broadly protective and more durable immunity." Do those limitations along with the horrible safety profile suggest stopping the endless jabbing? Inquiring minds want to know.

Son of a bitch, this what they should have done in the first place. But, oh no, they figured they could use all the "sheepel" as lab rats, and they were correct. How about this time, they go through the "normal" 6-10 year process to insure that they don't kill us all this time.

[Only considering your summary of the article.] This sounds like an entirely valid "wish list" for an ideal vaccine. I find it heartening that he admits the current "vaccines" are, in so many words, a monumental flop. We still don't know what the total long term damage in terms of permanent injury or deaths is, and for obvious reasons the powers that be will take their sweet time researching and reporting it.

But, given that it's a wish list, I would question how realistically achievable such a goal is? Granted, I'm just a layman, but there has never been a good vaccine against a coronavirus; we can add the mRNA jabs to that list. The viruses simply mutate too fast. I grasp the gist of mRNA technology. Will they be able to find a "conserved" part of the viruses that rarely if ever alters? In principle, I suppose they can direct a cell to produce one or more proteins (antigens) of almost any desired type. But therein lies a problem: how could they possibly know what the magic protein(s) shall be? The dangerous side effects remain an unsolved mystery too.

I welcome the promise of mRNA and other innovative technologies. I think most of us do. But what we struggle against are the knock-on problems, of hasty development, of deceit and abuses of power in high places, mandating experimental drugs (by any reasonable definition) upon unsuspecting or unwilling patients, and so forth. We are likely in the midst of a government and medical disaster of unprecedented scale.

The COVID authoritarians/fearmongers rely on the general public's innumeracy (like illiteracy, but y'know), in order to foment testing mania and casedemics. If people understood the vast difference in results between a low cycle threshold and a high one, no one would line up for these tests. The variation in results is not additive, but rather exponential. Kary Mullis cautioned against this, of course.

1. Want actual results?: Set cycles to 28

2. Hospital admissions down? Raise cycles to 36

3. Hospitals getting crowded? Drop cycles to 30

4. Too many people on Florida beaches? Raise local cycles to 42

5. Want to really confuse people? Change cycles every third day to a range between 26 and 37.

6. Too much fear and riots beginning? Drop cycles to 22.

7. Getting bored? Make cycle count dependent on car patient drives. (44 for pickup trucks, etc.)

8. Have fun make up your own cycle rules" Maybe 32 for day shift, 40 for night shift, etc.

I think we all realize that we will indeed see more back-peddling on everything from testing to probably vax mandates and all the rest of the Covid protocols.

When I worked as a scientist in the private sector, part of my job was to deal with government agencies at the State and Federal level. Whether it was USEPA, ACOE, DOD, DOE, et al they were all as much as a decade behind in technology and practices. Private sector practitioners like myself frequently tried to get the alphabet agencies to reexamine their protocols, always meeting a brick wall. We were light years ahead of them because we do the work and we were continuously learning and adjusting our knowledge based on empirical evidence.

By the time they started to adopt some of the recommendations we made, the technology had already move yet again, and they were predictably, behind - again. More often than not, they resisted listening to our advice because we worked for "evil corporations" which of course, are to be distrusted.

No real surprises here.

Expand full comment

As a career Federal contractor, we must cut Big Gov (and Big Corporate) some slack. The simple limitations of the procurement cycle explain a lot of what you rail against. Here's an analogy. I worked in IT. When even a small government project buys things, it often deals in the hundreds of units and millions of dollars. As much as they'd like to, they simply can't update as the technology changes. In fairness, they often don't NEED to. A computer from ten or even twenty years back may be perfectly adequate for the agency's missions. Even if the budget were unlimited, there are still logistical limits as to how fast hardware and software could be replaced, people retrained, and so on. All this explains, in part why I was using a Unix system last updated in the 1980s, and our entire project's PCs ran MS-DOS well into the late 1990s! For those totally unfamiliar with computing, the preceding is merely to say "We were REALLY, REALLY behind the times!"

I completely get what you're saying - I recall reading several years ago that the Navy was still paying Microsoft to maintain updates to Windows XP because many of their on-board systems were still using it and it was too tough to upgrade (besides XP was pretty damn bulletproof).

But I worked mostly in providing technical (scientific and engineering) services - both to private sector clients dealing with the government, and even to government agencies themselves (not procurement). We had the tech and equipment, and we were doing all the work. They would refuse to permit us to use techniques that would provide more accurate, relevant and cost-effective solutions because they didn't understand the technology or protocol, and because of their insular culture. They would also "mandate" we do things that were completely unnecessary to solving a problem because they found it "interesting" (of course in those cases they weren't paying the bill, the private sector client was). When we'd point this out, they'd often remark "Oh you work for a big corporation, your client can afford it".

Their requirements also applied to their certifications of our own analytical labs (where we had all the equipment) - my lab manager was ready to murder them, because they wouldn't allow her to employ more efficient and accurate techniques because an internal "standard practice" hadn't been reviewed or updated in a decade, or because they were completely ignorant of advances that clearly showed we were doing it in a way that was very sub-optimal. I guess my overarching point was the bureaucracy is an unwieldy, inefficient structure that is highly resistant to change in large part, due to the lack of expertise and a failure on their part to keep abreast of rapid evolving scientific and engineering principles. Another great example is the infamous "Lead Copper Rule" of 2000 (think Flint water crisis) - they were provided with great input by industry during the comment period (and could have incorporated meaningful changes) and ignored ALL of it.

I certainly wouldn't rule that out and I do believe there are unquestionably elements of political leadership that are pushing the Coronadoom narrative to advance other agendas (similar to "global warming"). But I also know that when it comes to tech and protocols they are like bulls in a china shop. They rarely listen to good advice, and in the "group think" environment they work in they can become fixated on a particular technology or method to the exclusion of all else. Although there certainly is malfeasance at play with the Covid drama, the old maxim "never attribute to malice what can easily be explained by incompetence" is also at play.

You are absolutely right that none of this testing was needed - at least not for diagnosing anything. I suspect they did need it though, for other purposes, #1: to create a global pandemic.
