"not having to constantly worry about the next panic driven authoritarian impulse from a capricious state intruding upon our lives and livelihoods because some epidemiologically illiterate health agency got the vapors." This is such a powerful statement for me. I wake many mornings and check to see if Biden has mandated something new. I just discovered our local science museum mandates masks (not mandated by city or state). Science has been killed. Its definitely the big things but also the little things that are bothering me now. I hate seeing people in their masks. It reminds me how dumb people are and that's depressing. I am so sick of society right now.

I do not trust this people. One step forward, two steps backwards. They think they have absolute power over our lives and they act that way. Be careful!

Great this is happening but here in the US legislatures need to be proactive and expressly strip governors, county commissioners, public health departments, etc. of "emergency" powers. They have demonstrated that they are at best panicky neurotics and potentially much worse. They cannot be trusted with the power to suspend liberties.

The good news is the WEF and their embedded moles pulled the trigger too soon, showed their true colors, and it looks like it's going to fail this time. We need to ensure it cannot happen again.

I'm ill inclined to give credit or accolades to those who do a little bit of The Right Thing™ after doing The Wrong Thing™ for so long after it was obvious it was very wrong, and never having had even the tiniest, most microscopic of inklings of a reason to believe that it was indeed right.

Yeah, they're removing the restrictions and hopefully the vaccine passes here in Sweden in a few weeks as well. But let's not chalk this up as a victory just yet

Don't leave those Norwegians out of this account: Norway will also scrap (most) mandates next week.

The current weekly report shows roughly 70% of all Covid-related hospitalisations occur among double and triple-jabbed:

https://fackel.substack.com/p/covid-in-norway-vaccine-failure-too

And the public health authorities' current risk assessment is discussed here:

https://fackel.substack.com/p/covid-in-norway-big-news-from-up

As a consequence, researchers are coming forward, with Aftenposten--Norway's NYT equivalent--citing an immunologist from the U of Oslo who states that "kids are better off overcoming infection rather than getting vaccinated".

Spread the word, our future--children--are winning!

Not buying it. All lockdown together, all release restrictions together. Remember the censorship, the coercion (nhs staff still face the sack), ignorance of deaths from the jab. Sorry, it ain’t returning to normal, how can it.

Now is not the time to be celebrating, it is the time to accelerate the correction to the last two years. If we sit back and say "we won" then we let the enemy regroup and attack some place where there is weakness. This may be the beginning of momentum for sanity and a key point in this war for our very lives that we must not squander.

I’m thinking enough citizens have been sufficiently dosed with that mystery serum that the target numbers have been achieved. Now we wait for the longer term outcomes—results we have to guess and speculate on and analyze incoming data to figure out. Meanwhile, yeah, “We say goodbye to the restrictions and welcome the life we knew before”.

Enjoy it, Scandinavian cousins, like the last bottle of a fine old wine.

If we can think back 23 months ago, through the mists of Rona fog, you may recall people who rationally did not know if we were all 1) under first-strike bioassault from a China that would be eager to conduct a sly first attack on Bad Orange Man's country during an election while giving cover to cracking down on a problematic Hong Kong population, or 2) whether the Pandora Pandemic resulted from the fumblings of intel agency Bond villains. Or both. Within weeks of March 2020, all who read widely and skipped TeeVee hysteria knew that few would perish in the accurate grand count, luckily kids would be fine, testing was suspect, not much would halt progress of viral gasses, and many of us who work in the field of immunoScIEncE were deeply concerned about altering the immunological landscape through interventions...for fear of easily predictable mutations aka variants. Upon discovering that the vaxx regime that was being undertaken was fundamentally untested, ridiculously convoluted, and risky on many fronts especially with all we know about how vaxxcode recombination with exogenous virus spawns variants who find that the boosted are it's new favorite food, we should have commanded FULL STOP! But it has become clear that HUGE forces of previously unappreciated proportions (whether planned or emergent properties) were at work to alter the lives of billions. So if a politician's stated goals for the pandemic endgame are anything other than full-stop near-immediate endgame and return to human life circa 2018, they are suspect and should be shown the political door. Because anything other than that level of intensity is guaranteed to prolong this powergrab in ways that democracies based on timed elections cannot survive. Mail-in democracy would have been the envy of Saddam Hussein.

As far as children go, lets not forget that their 'plan' is to get these gene-vaxxes added to the approved Childhood Vaccine Schedule. If they can manage that, they're home free. Can't be sued for any ill effects. Then they can roll out Cominarty here in the USA. No risk. Devious, Evil, Inhuman...and Fauci, the FDA & others all go along...

Denmark did this once before (in September) and a month later it changed its mind.

I am glad they are doing it, but I would like to understand their decision-making process. In 2020, they had less cases and less hospitalizations, and in January 2021 (at the peak of their wave), they had less cases and about the same hospitalization (Jan 5, 2021: 925 vs Jan 27, 2022: 873).

So, in 2020-21 this was the most dangerous virus, but all of a sudden it's not anymore (with *more* cases and about the same hospitalization). Same stuff is going on in other countries. What is really going on?

Is the fact that many countries (Denmark, Norway, Ireland, Finland, Spain, etc.) are beginning to scrap COVID restrictions really just a silent admission that measures completely failed and that vaccines are not working great either? And this is really just a way to make people forget all this and pretend the past two years didn't really happen?

On the other hand, you have countries like Austria, Italy, France who are starting to tighten restrictions (for unvaccinated).

The thing they are glossing over when they talk about "going back to the way we were" is the jab mandates. And vax passports.

This whole thing started with a fear-mongering fest, with videos & news out of China, then Italy, to the point where we all accepted lockdowns.

Once we accepted lockdowns, everything else (restrictions) was easy: "we are doing this so we don't have to have another lockdown (or extend our lockdown, or make it worse)."

From quite early in 2020 - before even there was (supposedly) any vax developed, and with all the quite pertinent reservations about the difficulties of developing a vax for a coronavirus - the message was: "the vaksines will save us."

This seems to have been the main goal of all the restrictions - to get people to accept mandatory jabs and vax passports (and digital ID and a cashless society with a social credit system - but those have not been rolled out to us yet).

So that we can "go back to normal".

But the Klaus Schwabs of this world have been telling us there is no going back to the old normal, and the "normal" we are heading for is a "new normal".

So maybe I am being a tad over-cynical, but I am inclined to be a little bit cautious about celebrating too early...

It's my understanding, though, from reading other articles...that the only reason Denmark is doing this is because of their allegedly high vaxxed rate (82%). Ditto Sweden. So ...ok, whatever. Damage already done, for the most part.

My maternal Danish ancestors would be proud. If I had time, I’d whip up some Æbleskiver in celebration.

I’m curious if anyone who knows Danish cuisine has ever heard of Finca? My great-grandmother used to get a hankering for this Danish delicacy about once a year. It was an all-day ordeal and likely involved pork guts. The “stink was awesome” and filled the entire neighborhood, my grandma said. All the kids ran out of the house yelling, “Finca!” to escape the stench and stayed as far away as possible until the cooking was over.
