Me - Gosh I never realized how many people were mesmerized by Donald Trump. That blowhard short circuited the normal 10 year process of designing and testing vaccines and cut it down to only a few months. No animal studies, no trials of folks in poor health, no disclosure of potential side effects. Not even a list of ingredients. Just crazy.
VA - I'm not a Trump supporter and I wasn't mesmerized by him. I hate Trump.
Me - You can hate him all you want. But Trump obviously mesmerized you with his bullsh** Warp Speed vaccine program. But you're in good company. Think of all the politicians who told us again and again that Warp Speed was dangerous. That the FDA and the CDC weren't trustworthy. But all of those politicians got the vaccine as soon as they could. Completely mesmerized.
VA - I waited until Biden was president to get my first shot. I never trusted anything Trump did or said!
Me - Huh? What difference does it make that you waited till Biden was elected? You were mesmerized. You believed that Trump could magically cut all the red tape and push through a great vaccine in only a few months instead of a few years. Remember the vaccines were developed and released under Trump. Moderna bragged that they created their formula in only two days! Who makes such a brag on something as complex as a vaccine? A failing company trying to impress their boss that's who. Maybe they were mesmerized too and believed Trump's BS that they could safely cut nine years out of the normal vaccine development process.
