many people on the street still wear masks. i overheard a conversation in the gym today, two guys in their early 40s, in shape. they were blaming people's behaviour from covid not going away. not a shadow of a doubt that perhaps it is this idiotic approach what's brought us here. it is the people's fault, despite the almost 90% vax rate and spain having had very strict lockdowns and masks mandates and how compliant and obedient all of us are -- my hat goes off to you purple man, i did not use a mask outdoors other tan early in the morning when there was just very few people out in order to avoid what you did endure.
mind you, we've been working out with masks for many months by now. only a few weeks ago did the catalan gov allow for not using a mask at the gym as long as you're working out by yourself. still, many people still wear it even when no one is close to them. exercising with a mask, another winner that surely does improve your health.
Yeah, exercising or living with a mask...What a great idea. How could human being not realize it before?
You know, it takes new words to express the astonishment for a sciencific class that, in one year, has agreed with (and pushed) the notion that the best social health strategy is interfering with the very basis of life and health itself (breathing), wearing a mask full of bacteriae and fungus all day, every day, destroying your dreams, your economy, shutting down culture and spirituality, having you locked up in your own house without receiving fresh air or sun... To say it is crazy is not enough:)
It is my understanding that there is an obvious technocratic movement that tries to make human interaction or interaction with the environment as uncomfortable as for us not desiring it anymore, so that we´d end up at home, having nothing in our real lives, and depending on virtual reality like junkies, where we´ll be gods.
I am a totally calm, stable person, but there were times when I understood the feeling of madness, of irreality, of being in a lucid dream. I particularly remember a Saturday, October/November 2020, when I walked downtown in La Coruña, which was as crowded as it could be, and people literally starting acting like Jack Nicholson in "As good as it gets", or "Mejor imposible", as we called in Spain. Do you remember the way he walked to avoid contact? There were nasty comments, yes, but especially families leaving the sidewalk in fear, old people stopping and protecting with their arms in front of their faces, etc. Hundreds of people and I could have walked swinging my arms and I would not touch anybody...I stopped and started laughing like a maniac, imitating them. I swear it felt unreal.
Regarding your other post, yes, this winter is going to be decissive. I lost all hope of a miracle. Official stats are so easily manipulable that no way they are going to dismantle a legal, argumentative, scientific, mediatic scaffolding that has been proved so succesful. Actually it´ll go worse, because, as I already told people in 2020, it serves for any other inoculated fear, especially flu and viral pneumonia. And that´s where we are now...
See you around, Agustina. Good luck and thanks for the comments:)
someone else mentioned it, but you should write a book, or at least a post, of what it was like for you to walk around without a mask. i can only imagine but, as these past few months have proven, my imagination fell short of what my fellow citizens re capable of. i am confident the truth will come to light but by then, it'll probably be too late. in the meantime, i am already making peace with the fact that i might never go to a cinema, gym, coffeshop or restaurant again and that i must leave the city sooner than later. and that my circle of friendships will be greatly reduced i might rarely see them. would love to be proven wrong, though.
knowing there are other spaniards on this boat, though, is comforting.
Totally agree with both the comfort in seeing Spaniards with similar mindset and especially with the slow, painful process of understanding that it is truly a possibility that I might never do all those things you mention again. And although I am basically a lone wolf, I am so lucky that my mother, my brother and my best friend all are on this boat too.
Anyway, this whole mess the world has become has thrown me even deeper into the abyss of meditation and the mystical side of us, and I know there are many to whom this has happened too, so in the long run, who knows? Something better, more intimate, might have been giving their first steps for all of us renegades:)
I read your accounts of life in Spain and it gives me perspective that it's not so bad in the USA where we live with only "suggested" masks at stores. Medical offices of any type are another story though. I get by with a face shield at the doctor's practice, but I was forced to put on a surgical mask at an endodontist's office. The chairs in the waiting room were covered in plastic! I started laughing. I said to the dental assistant, "Wow, people are really scared here." and she said, "I'm not." I said, "well whoever is in charge of the waiting room sure is. The chairs are covered in plastic." I have to go back in 2 weeks to finish the root canal and I want to write "Let's go Brandon!" on the mask they gave me. My husband would prefer I write something else. He suggested "virus stopper" and I said I'd draw a bunch of laughing/crying emojis underneath the words.
I am sorry you all in Spain are living in such a nightmare.
Hi, Birdingmom. Thanks for your take. It soothes me to hear accounts from people living different situations. It really does.
I´d point out that the problem is not so much that Spain is living in a nightmare. If that were the case, we would all wake up sooner or later by force. The problem is that only a handful of us live in a nightmare, while 99,99% are totally involved in the process of making this situation chronic, either by submission through fear/depression or by total gullibility regarding the official narrative (vast majority who DO believe that they´re doing temporary sacrifices in order to have their lives back...)
I understand and I am so sorry. Have you watched any of Dr. Mattias Desmet's interviews about mass formation? There is not much advice in this one as far as how to break through to these people, but it is encouraging to know that we might be able to break through to the 40% he estimates is just going along. I have saved another link for an interview with him but haven't watched it - I get more behind all the time! He suggests continuing to confront people with facts/data to try to diminish the hypnosis.
thanks for what you've shared. as purple man says, the 'scary' thing in spain is how oblivious everyone is to the fact that the official narrative does not make sense. no one questions anything and the fact that numbers are raising in europe right now is put on the unvaccinated.
thankfully, there's been no talk about mandating the vaccine to work like in italy or in the usa, but, who knows if they'll come to be. austria just banned unvaccinated people from leaving their house at all. even to buy groceries which... how can that even be constitutional?
i've also been undergoing dental treatment for the past few months and the policy there is hand sanitizer, which i pretend to use and, 'funnily' enough, a friend from the use just sent me some news from msm in which the fda warns about benzene in hand sanitizers s it's directly linked to causing leukemia in humans (!). like in your case, a mask is mandatory and you also have to rinse with some antibacterial solution before the dentist sees you. they also take your temperature. nevertheless, my dentist once asked me if it was okay if she took the lask off because she was too uncomfortable and i said 'please do', so...
I hope you're able to watch the first link with Dr. Desmet. Even though I've been seeing the mass delusional psychosis from almost the beginning, his explanation for how it comes about, who gets hypnotized and how to break through was helpful. That's what I've not been able to understand. The irrationality is SO frustrating to me and not knowing how to break through it is equally frustrating.
Your dentist comments reminded me that at the endodontist (root canal place), they didn't make me rinse my mouth out at all. I'm still trying to decide what to write on that surgical mask for when I go back in 10 days! 😁😂
You wouldn´t believe the amount of time I devoted to confronting people with data, journalists and doctors/virologist included, either by internet, telephone or in person. The ignorance of any relevant stat or study and the authority argument they do not earn by means of reasoning has been the worst part of the pandemic madness. Behind the facade there really can be an abysmal nothing...
I haven´t heard from Dr. Desmet, but tomorrow I´ll watch them:)
"The modern means of mass communication bring the entire world daily into each man's home; the techniques of propaganda and salesmanship have been refined and systematized; there is scarcely any hiding place from the constant visual and verbal assault on the mind. The pressures of daily life impel more and more people to seek an easy escape from responsibility and maturity."

Yes, I can believe it, Purple Man! It starts to feel like you're beating your head against the wall until it feels good.
You're welcome, I hope it's helpful.
