This is one of the best pieces written by el gato. At first, it was amusing that people were so dedicated to their left leanings, but there appears to be some outright insanity taking over. I watched a short video yesterday on a ring camera where a sixty-ish woman went to the door of a stranger who had a Trump sign in their year. She started telling the homeowner she was crazy and then started throwing the F-word around and giving the one-finger salute as she left. It was pure insanity. If Trump manages to overcome the cheating this time, I have no idea how the insanity will manifest itself. But it will be very bad because the Democrats have lost all reason.

Saw Trump signs knocked down in a neighbor's yard this morning on our bike ride (it hasn't been windy)- this is a 55+ community and someone was triggered by this! A 75 yr. old was arrested in our community for going on to private property and taking down Trump signs. But somehow "we" are deranged, want to put people in camps and censor speech? It's so amazing to me that the same people cannot see the irony in their statements and actions- must have been something in the shots/boosters to bring this on....HAS to be..right?

This has been a new phenomenon appearing in several countries under election conditions. That of the leftwing WOKE vandalizing signs of their opponents. Part of spreading Cancel Culture.

Or....what those who are part of the dysfunctional totalitarian groups will do when anyone questions or dissents to their narratives. They will SHUN/SMEAR/PUNISH. Always. Litmus test for totalitarianism.

The newest variant of this behaviour is in vandalizing election signs of anyone who fails to support their WOKE narrative.

The blatant, in your face, lying is getting to me.

Why do political people lie the way they do - when it is so obvious to most people that they are lying?

Is it because one political consultant tells them that it works; and then another tells them “they all do it”?

Is it because in the short term it gives an advantage, and in the long term the lie will be forgotten - after all, all that matters is winning.

Case in point: Harris at the naval observatory; she turned my stomach/ made me cringe . . . no shame, none at all.

All politicians lie, but Trumps lies are like the ones you hear in a bar or locker room; Harris’ are like what you hear from a used car dealer, or at a casino, from a prostitute or a con man who wants to trick you out of your winnings or inheritance, or wants you to sign up for a very high interest loan.

There’s got to be a better way to select “leaders”.

Expand full comment

I recently came to the realization that the lies and hypocrisy are features, not bugs. That's why pointing out examples of such does not bother them in the slightest. They don't even try to defend themselves when confronted. Getting away with blatant lies and hypocrisy is proof that THEY have power over everyone else, and that they are above not just the law but basic social norms. Just like they'll show off their wealth, they'll show off their privilege-- it's like a badge of honor to them when they get away with something. The Enlightenment idea of equality is completely foreign to them.

El Gato is one of the best, but this post hits the nail on the head re a key, maybe foundational problem - the isolating group-think and closed-mindedness of a now dominate segment of “Liberals”. To me the biggest question is how they got where they are, and can they ever be salvaged.

I am probably best described as an agnostic, but I think the crux of the problem may be the turning away from religion. Aside from the mystical / spiritual aspects of religion; religion spends a lot of time telling / reminding us of how we should live, how we should relate to others, you know, right v wrong. And almost all religions do a pretty good job at this.

So some of us have turned to politics in lieu of religion, and politics is a very poor substitute (it’s obvious). It may be that we need to “submit” as some say to some form of actual religion, to balance our lives, and live naturally. And religions need to try harder to be believed.

Expand full comment

Left wing ideology is the most fundamentalist religion in existence. The blind faith in absurd narratives is worship to them. Any questioning of dogma gets you excommunicated.

I wonder about this. There is a top of the lefty pyramid, in other words, supreme manipulators who develop the narrative and create the latest "evidence" that Trump is a fascist. It stands to reason that those people, at least, know it's bullshit. So the problem of the sheeple may be solved on its own, if team reality can rip down the curtain and fully expose the liars. Alternative media / social media have been able to do this to some extent, luring a steady stream of former Dems to remove their blinders. Is this sufficient to reach critical mass? Maybe. But those who remain now don't want to be bothered thinking for themselves. These fools live to join the elite club by giving the right password, and will therefore always fall prey to architects of evil. We might be able to help some, but how can we help if we cannot speak their language?

Expand full comment

See i think the first step is we must not allow them to change language or nuance. A common "language" is crucial key to sharing time-experience with others.

Force them to confront reality. If they won't its just opportunity cost for us. Memes are a way to do this; that's why they throw tantrums and get upset because reality clashes with their worldview.

But, indeed many are lost...just like the people who keep taking the vaxx. There's no going back because reality is kryptonite to their worldview; they'd have to face up to sunk costs and the fact that they are not morally superior.

Who would want to confront that?

Expand full comment

I remember Michael Savage's line "Borders...language...culture." And here we are. If I leave my house and interface with others, besides those who speak English but will not hear, inevitably I hear foreign tongues everywhere. I have no idea what they are saying and they have plenty of company, which negates the need to learn English. These are the ones I think about. Will we be able to use the universal language of a smile, and open our arms, inviting them into our homes?

Expand full comment

Real Rule of Law, official English, and the need to find work are great integrators. This is how our immigrant ancestors became Americans. If you couldn't speak English, you had a hard time finding work, or communicating with coworkers, and without work you were doomed to poverty. Strong motivator.

Expand full comment

What's even more insidious is changing definitions in the still of the night like with vaccine and herd immunity.

How many people know the definitions were changed...maybe 5%.

This is a way to quietly change/eliminate history by removing sign post on the map of reality.

Expand full comment

I was thinking about my grandparents, they were some of those immigrants. My mother (the first of the offspring to get a high school diploma) and her siblings could speak the native tongue. My grandparents spoke broken English, but could understand us. Things have changed. Back then,, they wanted to become Americans and had to learn the language. Nowadays, not so much.

Expand full comment

"without work you were doomed to poverty"

That WAS indeed the case - three, or even two generations ago. Today, not so much. We have somehow severed the connection between self-reliance and work. And replaced it with dependency and welfare.

"our immigrant ancestors became Americans"

Too many of today's immigrants choose instead to become parasites, living off of Americans.

Another example of this the of behavior - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nOu0WiuSIo

Here is the statement of the young man who was on the receiving end of her diatribe:

"Just had the craziest experience ever on an airplane:

I’m boarding my flight from Baltimore to Seattle and approach my seat. I had an upgraded seat that I paid a little extra for because of the long 6 hour flight. As I approach my row I smile and motion to the husband and wife sitting in the aisle and middle seat that Imy seat was next to the window. I put my backpack in the overhead and the wife with a very stern voice says to me:

“Did you come here to cheer or to protest?”

“I came here to celebrate democracy ma’am”

… I knew this was going to be a long flight at this point. She then proceeded with: (somewhat paraphrased as my memory allows)

Her: “You put a crazed man in charge of the nuclear codes! You should be ashamed!”

Me: ‘Well we’re all entitled to our opinions here ma’am.”

Her: “And I’m entitled to get drunk and puke in your lap! I’m going to throw up right in your lap! You make me sick! Don’t talk to me! Don’t look at me! Don’t you dare even put your arm on that rest. You disgust me! You should be ashamed of yourself! You put a maniac’s finger on the button” (assuming she’s means nukes). You are a bigot. You should get off this plane!”

Me: “ma’am, by definition, bigotry is disparaging someone prior to knowing them simply by their beliefs and opinions. Thank you for being the very thing you preach against.”

She the proceeded with other various rantings such as my lack of critical thinking and other insults. Finally a flight attendant came over as you will see in the video followed by a supervisor informing that she would have to deboard the plane per captains orders.

After much fuss, airport police came and removed her from the plane. The lady across from me filmed that and was gracious to sent it to me. Many others around me defended me insisting the lady had caused all the commotion and was verbally assaulting not just me but others wearing various Trump apparel boarding the plane.

As the lady was removed I saw that I was surrounded by blacks, Latinos, Asians, and whites, all who had chimed in asking her to be removed and who had defended me. I was touched and moved knowing later that not all these people were trump supporters. The black man who took the seat next to me was a registered Democrat and he and I had a very good discussion about the beauty of free speech and coming together when people insult and commit acts of violence just for having differing views.

It truly was a great demonstration of AMERICA and its people coming together and standing up for one another. Hope you enjoy."

I looked into that concept actually, FL. About what the De-Nazification program was all about. Because Nazism was a form of psychopathically-inspired totalitarianism just as is the phenomenon the West is going through right now.

The king-pin of that program seemed to have been that a new authority was put in place, when the Allied Forces took over. Non-Nazis. Although, the American govt. did hire many former Nazi scientists/academics, and imported them to these shores. Which introduced a fly to the ointment. Because they had not necessarily foresworn their earlier allegiances.

Expand full comment

Like cult followers, a number of them escaped the mental grip......and others did not.

Depends whether a new healthy authority is put in place, and whether people are able to shake off the alliance with the old. There are some very elderly persons still today who proclaim Nazism due to their early German experiences. And then there are others, as you say, who rebounded nicely.

Not many people know that the actual Nazi's won WW2. Oligarchs who brought Hitler to power, financed and sold arms to both sides of the war, then profited by rebuilding what they destroyed are still running the show.

I'd say the majority of them rebounded nicely, focusing on the rebuilding of Germany, but it's difficult to tell since no one would be dumb enough to admit in public that they were still Nazis. For anyone who is interested, you might look up the situation in Canada some years ago of the Kielburger brothers, Craig and Mark.

Craig had been the original WEF child-saint in the 90s, prior to Saint Greta of the Climates. His script said that he was supposed to eradicate world-wide child poverty, Uh-huh. His parents and Greta's parents, however, seemed to be awfully fond of wealth themselves. The senior Kielburgers eventually owned a large portfolio of prime real estate in Toronto. And went on to amass more. They were schoolteachers, btw.

But getting back to Craig, after his WEF world promotional tours as a boy, he and his brother paid a fortune for their university educations (the brother went American Ivy-league), then established a non-profit called WE. It was supposed to (you guessed it) eradicate child poverty.

Only...in Canada, WE became better known for organizing large pop music events for schoolchildren. The schools bought into this, and teachers were actually paid to ensure that full busloads of kids attended. The guise was that attendance was a treat for good behaviour. At the show, the kids were entertained by the Kielburger brothers themselves, as well as by members of the Troodo family -- JT's mother, wife, and brother. They seemed to be heavily into telling the kids to "Vote Liberal". The Liberal Party being the Troodo party.

Are you ahead of me here? Are you seeing the same set-up as the 2024 DNC? Subliminal messaging? Trigger-word implantation in unknowing subjects? When their guard is down because they think they are being treated and entertained?

Well, you suspicious old things, you...😁

Liberals can’t debate because they are never faced with ideas that don’t support their own positions. When they do, it’s too hard to process so they resort to yelling and name calling. This has been going on for a very long time.

That was me as a pubescent female, too. I thought then -- as I think now -- that feminism was one of the big bamboozlements of the modern age. Con-artistry supreme. Had nothing to do with women; had to do with Psychopathic political controllers pushing whatever ideology won them the most power.

The bonus win for them was that feminism Balkanized the normal relationships between men and women. A society divided against itself falls...of course. Beginning to see what they had in mind?

Jim Jones used faux-Christianity as his lure. The Neo-Marxists used feminism (which was false by its nature) as theirs -- before they branched out.

The only science these people understand is the science of punishment.

And just like every socialist/fascist/communists regime the collective responsibility boils down to the method and process being one in the same

It's a very similar method and process as the "shock-workers" (a devised scheme, ostensibly, for the common good) from the Russian gulags where prisoners who attained "shock" status would get a slightly reduced sentence (the motivation) ...but refused to leave the camp because...wait for it....THE COLLECTIVE.

And that my friends was the purpose of the process and the method being the same.

As far as "mandating joy"...well...what they really want is a collective organism, living, working, eating, sleeping, and suffering together in pitiless and forced symbiosis.

It is very simple.

To express straightforward--sometimes blunt--sometimes satiric viewpoints without conciliatory preamble is perceived as male.

And that will make a considerable number of women and their little men helpers swarm in fury. Truly deranged hysteria and they will try to crush you with their mass and if you are uncrushable they will exile you. Because what you've done smells too uncompromisingly male.

It was very funny to me when I discovered, starting about 14 years ago, that in online places attracting comparable numbers of women and men, I always found myself sitting at the guys' table because the viewpoints sorted themselves out that way. It just happened.

But don't think conservative men are incapable of behaving in exactly the same way, because some of them do. That is continually proven to me on Substack. There are only a handful of parlors where one can disagree and the host won't get seriously bent out of shape to be challenged.

It takes great self-assurance to be able to handle all comers equally. Rigidity of thinking is not in the least entirely the left's affliction. It's just they're the majority in the public sphere these days.

“a person who is their ideas” rather than “a person who has ideas.”

This is the hallmark of people who suffer from narcissistic personality disorder.

They have no Freudian EGO and are ruled by their ID (limbic/reptilian brain) and a pseudo super-ego (which is not a super-ego at all...it is actually the voice in their head that forms all of their self criticism-an angry, absent, non-supportive parent, that foists shame around their necks like an anvil and chains).

Because they have no EGO (they cannot differentiate reality from their internalized image of what they "feel" the outside world is). They then invent (subconsciously) a false ego and become a "person of their ideas" rather than a "person with ideas".

They have to do this because they are not a PERSON as they have no EGO that balances their ID with a super-ego (societal norms/morality/conscience). They are empty shells...petulant beings...who are completely emotionally dis-regulated, and who have a failure in object relations (i.e. they are gods in their own mind, anyone else who does not agree with them are wrong and are to be shamed....they CANNOT accept and deviation from what they imagine the the world to be...they are actually living in a delusion where they are the supreme being).

You cannot begin to wrap your head around why they do what they do, unless you completely understand that they suffer from classic narcissistic personality disorder, along with different degrees of other personality B disorders. Their emotional dis-regulation absolutely PROVES this.

Essentially, they have the emotional age of about a 1.5 to 3 year old.

They were unable to develop a true sense of their own self do to some sort of complex trauma they endured in their formative years.

They cannot imagine a world where another being disagrees with their delusional world view, because they do not interact with the outside world in a normal fashion.

They interact with the interjects of the outside world that they have created in their own mind (which usually is an inaccurate representation of the outside world). Because of this, any variance between their view of the outside world, and a position of someone in the outside world is viewed purely as a THREAT to their existence.

Does this make sense?

People with this personality have a tendency to by highly in favor of authoritarian regimes. They need the outside world to march in lock-step with their own delusion, so that it can give them narcissistic supply, confirming that they are in fact "right" and providing them with higher "status" in society.

I am not making this crap up. It is all in the psychological studies on the topic.

Its the dirty little secret no one wants to talk about, to whit:

These people are batshit crazy. Period. QED.

You can't reason with them. THey are broken.

the problem lies in the fact that the entire essence of the woke ethos is elevating cluster B personality traits to virtues.

Expand full comment

100%. BUT, this is nothing new. It has been written about for thousands of years (the book of genesis e.g. adam, eve and the serpent, cain and abel) the stories are legion.

What IS new is the societal reach of the woke, cluster b mind virus due to the internet, social media, and smart phones. It is not a coincidence that this mind virus began to "take off" in approximately 2012 (when smart phones became ubiquitous among adolescent youth).

see: https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/2k12MH_Findings/2k12MH_Findings/NSDUHmhfr2012.htm#:~:text=In%202012%2C%20there%20were%202.2,4.7%20percent).

The study doesn't mention smart phones, its just declares 2012 to be the year mental health problems saw a dramatic increase among adolescent youth. You don't have to be a rocket scientist for make the connection to pocket social media devices.

IT is bigger than a cult. It is a mind virus or probably more accurately a "mass psychogenic illness".

Expand full comment

ps. I have come to the conclusion that the only way to combat this destructive trend is through effective cross-examination i.e. ask them questions to flood their minds with extreme cognitive dissonance. This overwhelms their psyche, and forces them to either 1. go to an emotional extreme and lash out (and make a huge mistake for all to see) or 2. retreat back under the rock from which they crawled.

They have to be managed, marginalized, and ultimately ridiculed for their insanity.

Thank god for X.

This is heavy to say, but we might be witnessing a natural phenomenon, a process by which nature brings a society back into line with nature's objectives. Of course this process would be triggered by a social that ventures outside nature's parameters, failing in its basic natural functions.
