Here's another solution. Using today's new rules of Equity, cut one apple in half and give each boy a half. Give the girl the remaining whole apple to make up for past injustices to her great grandmother.
I thought of the second one right away LOL. Stab one of the people, the surviving 2 get 1 apple each.
