i’m trying hard to be a good kitten and trust people, but jeez you guys, does anyone go into politics these days for reasons other than getting back at people they’re mad at?

Just a quick perusal of Reddit or Twitter will quickly and sufficiently illustrate that these people's politics are motivated entirely by hatred of the other guy, rather than by aspiration toward a positive good.
This may have been about a virus in the early days when we were operating in the dark, but this is clearly not about a virus now. This is about control and the only science that seems to matter now and over the last several months is political science. This virus is not a threat to children and as per CDC data, we know that the flu and Pneumonia are at least two times as deadly as COVID for children and young adults. Why won’t anyone cite these statistics? None of the “journalists” the least bit curious?
It's not like any children look forward to being able to play all year or anything! They are resilient! It's just a little more child abuse, for the children!
Look at Nero fiddling while Rome burns! Governor of a state that is figuratively sinking into the sea (lake?). Record levels of violent crime, while brains and wealth flee the state and he is going to lower the boom on sports, which among other incredible physical, mental and social benefits has actually kept kids from joining gangs or engaging in criminal behavior. Like Ancient Rome we are moving slowly to autocracy but our slide does seem to be picking of steam with every passing day. I love the irony of preventing young people from engaging in activities that should set or keep them on a path to a physically and mentally healthy life. And this message delivered from a morbidly obese man who likely was the last one picked for the game
