“Mandates” aren’t law either; at least in the States, only a state legislature & yet @ state & federal levels “mandates” were treated as unbreakable “law”. I work in a law office & when 1 of the partners informed the staff that we would have to start wearing masks in the office because it was “the law”, all I could do was laugh derisively & point out to the LAWYER that a “mandate” absolutely was not “law” & that I wouldn’t be complying. And none of us did. But that’s the level of genius we’re dealing with: lawyers who think recommendations or dictats are law & medical professionals that consider an untested, unsafe & ineffective poison to be a “vaccine”

The cruel irony here is that many of those students who once opposed government control and policies now rule over academia and are responsible for brainwashing succeeding generations into embracing government -- at least so long as the donkeys are in charge.
Those college students were the Boomers. They protested the Vietnam War and supposedly believed in freedom. What happened to this generation? When the pandemic was declared they completely embraced the narrative and so many of them were quite happy to give up their freedom and swallow the covid propaganda. As a boomer I am embarrassed to be part of that age demographic
Apart from my age, I have little in common with them.
I am a boomer (70) in Canada. I have a healthcare background and bought in to the fear at first. During the lockdown I did a deep dive into all things virus, vaccine, public health and the WHO. I learned how to read research papers with scepticism. I learned who to trust when I needed help understanding. I gathered a wide range of opinions.
When the shots appeared. I was hesitant and decided to (mostly) stay home and be careful while I waited for more info. Needless to say, my trust did not improve.
I argued endlessly with my husband (also a retired healthcare professional) about all the questionable info we were being given via MSM, public health and gov't. (At one point, he blocked me from his email so I couldn't send him any info from outlier Drs./scientists, LOL. I just printed the articles and left them in his usual haunts around the house!) He went off and got two shots while I bit my tongue. By that time, I had won my case and he got no more.
We are now (mostly) on the same page and staying up to date on different aspects of the pandemic. In fact my husband just successfully completed a second year immunology course at our local college to update his ancient BSc. (This is a "hobby' that predates the pandemic.) He impressed the prof with his knowledge and they had lively, out-of-class email discussions during the course.
The sad part is that we are now completely estranged from our millennial son, his gen Z wife and their children. They are "true believers"; especially his wife. Our son got quite abusive with us. He called me an "idiot" and "embarrassing". He said if I really cared about his family, I would get vaccinated. He told us we were too old and gullible to navigate the internet. (He has no medical background.) He tried to "parent" us! (He has been a parent for 3 years and already he is an expert!!) He even contacted my husband's sister to express concern that he was dementing. Really?! In the meantime, he and his wife have had Covid at least 2 times. If my husband and I had it, we were asymptomatic.
We have 2 grandchildren born during the pandemic. I have seen the 3 year-old from a distance, before the vaxx roll-out. I have never seen the 9 month-old; just pictures. Now that has stopped out of neccessity. Our son and his wife got completely unreasonable. We had to set some boundaries. The lack of respect for our lifestyle and choices was too much. We have requested no contact for the forseeable future. I have no idea how to fix this going forward, but I do know it has to come from our son.
Anyway, thanks for listening. It helps to tell my story.

So sorry for your loss. I had the same issue but the opposite. My mother would not see me or her only Granddaughter for two years because we "didn't care". I chose my daughter over my mother, a d after all that has come out, I'm glad I protected my girl. She let us visit her a few months ago, but I am still angry. She's my daughter's only grandparent. It has been amazing to see who bought in and who didn't. I have a friend I met when I was 6, thank God we are on the same page. I've seen other friendships end.
You are right, it has to come from your son. Stay open, it will all come to an end and they will have some weak excuse, how could he have k own? You will have to eat it, if you want to see your son and those kids.
Many of those original hippies finished college, cut their hair, traded in the tie dye for Brooks Bros. the VW microbus for a BMW, and become the first wave of Yuppies.
We stayed true to our hippy roots. I still love tie-dye and wear my long flowy skirt to folk festivals in the summer. We also do have a '72 VW Combi bus with original side tent and we're bumming around with it in the summertime. Peace and love is still my main motto. Needless to say I never even considered the jab to be of any value to me due to the ultimate synthetic nature of it.

Yeah, I guess everyone has a slightly different version of the "hippy" mentality. I just like a quiet and simple life with lots of nature and great home-cooked food. I live in Northern Alberta, Canada and wish we would regress to before craziness. Trudeau is still pushing his money jabs and I will resist until the bitter end. My body, my choice means just that to me. I stay away from doctors and feel much healthier for it.

The plight of my new neighbor is that he tried to be a good dad to his two sons, who are now graduated in engineering and computer science and are doing well. He retired at 36 and devoted his time to trying to give them the best life experience and preparation that he could. They were living in Hawaii and he pointed out to his sons that they were surrounded by people who were CHOSING to live there and arranging their lives accordingly. He tried to teach them to do the same. He is a critical thinker and his wife divorced him while his sons were in their teens because he was questioning the narrative, buying gold, preparing for economic crash. His wife decided he was a fool and decided to take her cut from the money and run. So when “covid” started, he pointed out the evidence that the whole deal was a psyop and cautioned/begged them not to take the jab. This resulted in them shunning him as a negative influence and they pretty much wrote him out of their lives for his trouble. He is pretty devastated and can’t understand what he did wrong. So yesterday, I brought up his predicament to a friend whose daughter is young, living in LA, pursuing the waitress-to actress version of the rock-and-roll dream. She told me her daughter just flat straight believes MSNBC world and feels that we older folks have actual brain damage from the pre-unleaded gasoline days and that is why we are inclined to doubt the official narrative!

I feel happy that despite being a rebellious boomer when I was young, my two adult children and my 3 grandkids all got the message and think more or less like I do. No arguments in our immediate family, thank goodness. None of us are jabbed except one of my grandsons got forced into it for work, and he's regretful and angry about it now. On the other hand, my 3 siblings are covidiots and rabidly left, so I don't know what happened there. It's a mystery. I no longer discuss any of this with them as I want to maintain good family relationships. Life is too short to be angry at each other. Hopefully they won't be affected by the shots.
Indeed, children are only temporarily ours. They do break out of our grasp, even a loving one, and venture into the great big world. That creates tremendous heartbreak, generally on the parental side.
It is a fact that ALL children at a certain age to a greater or lesser degree rebel against their parents. I was always a very obedient daughter (i.e., good girl) but even I had my points of rebellion. I think that there is a good reason for this in the grand scheme of things. Fortunately, most of us survive this episode and by our own mistakes become older and wiser but it is sad that some will not survive.

I live in SENM where it’s all common sense, rational, salt-of-the-Earth farmers, ranchers, cowboys, oilfield workers, dairy. Sheriffs in all SENM counties refused to enforce Wuhan’s mandates for masks, closures, etc. We were relatively unscathed (but for the emotional trauma of the whole damn thing) but it was a whole different thing in Albq & ESP Santa Fe! O hell no, SF could be the Kommie Kovid Kapitol!!!
I actually do believe the election was stolen, not because there aren’t plenty of dopes in this state, but because thats the way demoncRATS always roll, & to hedge their bets

His defense of shots, boosters, masks, etc in the face of the unraveling narrative just about makes me vomit. I called his office in DC but no one answered. The other Wuhan Lujan got the full force of my wrath. Well, not him, but his poor intern. As if anything a constituent says who isn't in full agreement with the trends matters.
We just have to realize & accept (I’m sure you & already realize, if not accept) that this beautiful & spiritual state is deeply corrupt @ every level: governor, legislature, mayors, courts & that they will absolutely never listen to citizens like us.
