That is a bill being proposed by a NY rep. I spent fifteen minutes on the phone with his aide giving her an earful. She didn’t know what to do with the facts I was giving her, but she kept assuring me that the bill had just been proposed, had not passed any approvals, and that the details for exemptions due to medical issues and the like were to be considered in the future. Everyone needs to flood his office with phone calls: (718) 503-9610

Thanks for the number. The sponsor is Ritchie Torres, a 33-year-old, first-term congressman who was elected in a super dem-leaning district this past November; the previous rep retired after serving for 30 years. I guess this is a long way around me saying: Maybe I'm naive, but I think this is the sort of thing that gets proposed strictly so he can use it to fundraise off of.

I suspect he will have been pushed to do this idea by higher-level players who likely write the language of the legislation, with some reward offered for doing it. When you get the proverbial "tap on the shoulder" from higher-ups, participation is paid for but it is not optional.

SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern and variants under investigation in England/Technical briefing 20/August 6, 2021

This report from Public Health England shows an increase in the spread of the Delta variant. This variant now accounts 99% of sequenced and 98% genotyped cases from July 25 through July 31, 2021 in England.

PHE last reported the Delta variant Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of ~0.2% - 0.3% in early July.

PCR cycle threshold (Ct) values from routinely undertaken tests in England show that Ct values (and by inference viral load) are similar between individuals who are unvaccinated and vaccinated.

Delta in England as of 8/2/2021...

Unvaxxed: 151,054 cases/253 deaths/0.1675%

Unvaxxed <50: 147,612 cases/48 deaths/0.0325%

Unvaxxed 50+: 3,440 cases/205 deaths/5.959%

Fully Vaxxed: 47,008 cases/402 deaths/0.8552%

Fully Vaxxed <50: 25,536 cases/13 deaths/0.0509%

Fully Vaxxed 50+: 21,472 cases/389 deaths/1.812%

31,841 Unlinked Infections

70,107 Partially Vaxxed Infections

47,008 Fully Vaxxed Infections

151,054 Unvaxxed Infections

1.29 times more infections in Unvaxxed versus Partially/Fully Vaxxed.

~54.2% of deaths were in fully vaxxed.

~58.1% of deaths were in fully vaxxed 50+.

~64.8% of deaths were in fully/partially vaxxed.

149 more deaths of fully vaxxed than unvaxxed.

184 more deaths of fully vaxxed than unvaxxed in 50+ cohort.

228 more deaths of fully/partially vaxxed than unvaxxed.

255 more deaths of fully/partially vaxxed than unvaxxed in 50+ cohort.

We don’t have the prior health status of those who died in any of the cohorts.

We don’t know the breakdown of “vaccines” taken by the vaxxed.

the hypothesis that the vaxxes work (whatever that is today) has a troubling probability to be false. all tests have type i and ii error and we have no idea what cdc estimated those to be!

the vaxxes have no safety observations therefore the consumer risk of taking one is too high for a rational decision maker.

the observed test "efficacy" was "tweeked", and the test population lacked minorities and elderly.

the vaxxed breakthrough cases are horrifying, 75% of provincetown, ma outbreak positive tests are two dose vaxxed. note ma is in hope simpson low season!

and implying case fatality rate is lower ignores the observation that delta cfr is very slight compared to last year.

the vaccines have not made c19 any more endemic than coincidental evolution and declining cases last spring is more likely hope simpson seasonality....

Walensky admits to Blitzer that fully vaxxed can be infected and transmit the virus. They have similar viral loads to the unvaxxed.

Your jab protects you...maybe...and no one else.

There is no greater good.

There is no legitimate public health claim for mandates or passports.

And we are a free people. No one can required us to be injected with an experimental gene therapy that doesn't work very well...to do anything.

I told her that the lack of efficacy of the shots would lead to further outbreaks and that the CDC has even admitted vaxxed people can carry high viral loads.

That’s what I understand too. I heard animals tested with mRNA vaccines died when exposed to wild virus. A friend said five vaxxed acquaintances died with Covid.

Wouldn't you start with "the vaccines were advertised as being 95% effective but are now by anyone's assessment far less than that?" Or how about--"if the mandate is warranted by public safety how can that be squared with 'it doesn't protect you from catching or then spreading the virus to others.'" Maybe start there.

Doesn't square with unknown border xers with 40% CV being sent into states by plane and bus either and infecting the residents.

I would make a more fundamental rights appeal. Sure, there is plenty of evidence of Covid not being dangerous to 99.8% or so of people under 50. Not ouch worse up to 70. Those more at risk can decide not to fly or to be as careful as possible. Also the argument about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. The VAERS data alone is enough to suspend any previous vaccination. Recent data shows the vaccines’ efficacy wanes in about 6 months and there are also theories that they could be making infections worse and driving immune escape variants. More recent evidence suggests that ADE or pathogenic priming could be occurring now. But the most fundamental problem with this approach is its absolute violation of liberty. Violation of bodily autonomy. I would ask this man if he will be able to sleep at night after knowing that because of him, a little boy or girl won’t be able to fly across the country to visit their grandparents after a year and a half of being out of school and in a mask, separated from friends and unable to participate in many of the things that are so important for a child, nay a human being. And all for a virus that is not a threat to them. Even if he exempts children who can’t even get the dangerous, unnecessary vaccine, the parents will be forced to get it, or should the child fly alone? Think about the consequences of such actions, and ask yourself if you want to be known for such a destructive, unnecessary and authoritarian piece of legislation. It’s downright un-American. There haven’t even been significant cases from airports or planes. It won’t stop the spread of something that’s already practically endemic.

Hasn’t been about a virus for many, many months. All about power and removal of freedoms. Those that have bought this from the beginning are dogmatic than ever and the propaganda makes them feel like they are actually helping society. I am more interested in seeing how the mandates fly with the military, with significant BIPOC representation. Saw a stat from NYC recently that only 25% of black residents are jabbed. Walls are closing in but it ain’t over yet. I am expecting a mandate from my employer and like the US, Canada is not recognizing prior infection and the presence of antibodies so I will likely be forced to resign

I am still suspicious about the motives behind the push for "a needle in every arm." Especially now that it's clear that vaccine efficacy in preventing infection and transmission is very low. Given that, vaccine certificates are pointless, and yet they keep doubling down with no end in sight. So, yeah, not about a virus. But all these measures seem kind of inefficient and pointless in terms of gaining power, the 'great reset," etc. I am really concerned that it is about the vaccines and long term effects, either known and intentional, or not, just a screwup they need to cover up. So, a control group of lots of unvaccinated folks definitely not wanted, as it would prevent blaming the situation on the virus instead of the vaccines. Either way, alarming. I have natural immunity and don't intend to take the vaccine, no matter what. This whole thing is absolutely insane.

Missouri vs McNeely The Court held that the Fourth Amendment’s protection against bodily intrusions outweighs the state’s interest in gaining evidence quickly. It was a case about drug use evidence and the ability to force a blood draw, however the court stated that the 4th Am protects against bodily intrusion...period.

Expand full comment

From the start it’s clear the powers that be wanted this thing to be as bad as possible. From the ventilators to lockdowns and school closures. Forcing dangerous drugs like Remdesavir while suppressing or outright banning other therapeutics. All the while suppressing dissent through censorship or professional threats. And it appears the vaccines are just another aggravating factor, perhaps the most destructive of all. They’re not just harming people due to their toxic nature, but also making the infections worse. There’s a theory that holds more weight for me every day this tragedy unfolds- The virus was made for the vaccine, not the other way around.

Expand full comment

Yes, I have heard that one too. It comes under the category of "unimaginable"', but when you look at all the evidence, you simply cannot rule it out. Did TPTB want this to be as bad as possible? Absolutely, but why? To sell a lot of vaccines, to insure billions in profits? Or to ensure maximum vaccine use for some other reason, by making every other remedy (and there are many) unavailable? The principal potential vaccine effect talked about is depopulation, either through sterilization or direct deaths. We know the spike protein produced by the vaccine is concentrated in women's ovaries, but what the long term effects of that will be is still unknown. And there is a lot of speculation about long term vaccine effects. ADE (antibody dependent enhancement) is an alarming possibility, but there are quite a few other allegedly possible mechanisms for vaccine caused illness, including cancer and other causes of early death. Really diabolical, if true.

Expand full comment

Sorry to hear you are in that situation. If you are in a position to talk to a lawyer, you might want to do so. I've heard advice to the effect that it's better for the employee to force the boss' hand and get fired rather than resigning. Then the employee should get it in writing that he was fired for not being vaccinated. It might be different in Canada, of course. (Or the advice might not even be correct where I am.) But it's worth asking someone who knows the law.

Just not right to force health choices on you in order to work, Art. also, immunity from COVID exposure is far better protection than a vaccine. It should be regarded as equivalent to, if not better than, vaccine.

Yup but they will fix the Emergency use pushback with FDA approval soon. I don’t think for a minute that the white-house would come out with these mandates without knowing that the FDA is going to approve these shortly. These treatments don’t prevent catching it, spreading it and recent data from the field shows that the viral load in an unvaxxed vs. Vaxxed individual are similar so sure other than these factors, they look like they work brilliantly. Going to be really difficult putting this genie back in the bottle

They’ll always need to make exceptions for people with medical conditions. Religious accommodations are not looking so hot though, something about a court denying review in a case to reconsider TWA v Hardison (which I just read about today but was published in April).

I’m going to quote my mom’s wisdom on whether this is likely to pass:

It’s gonna get worse before it gets worse. But don’t worry because the worst is yet to come!

Expand full comment

I would agree that in the past they would likely grant exemptions but heck they are gaslighting us by not recognizing antibodies and activated T-Cell immunity which were recognized by the medical community for decades. We were told this by world renowned specialists like Martin Kuldorf of Harvard and Jay Battacharya of Stanford, both of whom are being harassed and outright censored by the machine. So why would they recognize other exemptions? Boosters already on the way. Ina society that bribes children with ice cream and some of the least healthy among us with burgers and fries, is anything off the table? What happened to the Nuremberg Code?

Expand full comment

Half the world has lost its mind. And how can anyone with Half a scruple mandate “vaccines” when the pharmaceutical companies that created them are immune from prosecution?

Expand full comment

If I am not mistaken, the TWA case, although it could be distorted in a court of law, was about someone refusing to work on the sabbath due to their religion. It wasn’t about a religious exemption to a medical treatment. But in this day and age, all rationale and protections seem to be going out the window due to regulatory capture.

Expand full comment

You recall correctly. The argument in issue, if I’m understanding it right, is whether the religious accommodation would create “undue hardship” to the company (more an employer-employee situation than an airline-traveler issue). I also don’t discount the likelihood that I’m drawing wrong conclusions and/or misinterpreting how the case bears upon current concerns... law is a language unto itself and I’m far from fluent.

Also, travelers being paying customers, no airline would just part with a good chunk of business without a fight, so there might be a strong response (based on greed but it would help to get some heavy pushback... I hope).

Where ARE all the attorneys ???

Expand full comment

there are quite a few. In NM and Ohio, lawsuits have been filed. In Hawa'ii they're staring a class action suit against mandatory vacs. There was a recent Kentucky case where the judge actually ruled all the governor's covid measures unconstitutional. That also happened in Penn. And see Reiner Fulmich class action suit in Germany. The problems are that lawsuits take forever, a lot depends on how captured the judge(s) are, and even after a win, what happens--the reality on the ground sometimes takes a long time to change (see civil rights struggle). It's worth fighting legally, but courts can't be the only fight.

Expand full comment

I've also been telling people about the 'long cycle' problem with lawsuits on this kind of legal action. If you can't go get an injunction, the ground will have shifted by the time your case finally goes in front of the judge. And then you'll likely lose, and have to appeal. All of which will take 1+ years.
