Whew, I'm not alone!

“they are running around like headless chickens trying to pull on the levers that used to work.”

Expand full comment

Yes. That kind of describes it. The headless chickens do finally capitulate however. It was fun to us when grandpa did the deed in the barnyard. It still has entertainment value I’m thinking. 🤔😂

Me too! Miller brings joy wherever he speaks :)

It was pure political aikido using the enemy's own actions to destroy themselves.

Trump and his wrecking crew has a method of operating which the Russians call "razvedka boyem" --reconnaissance through battle.

You push and you see what happens and then you change your position. Its astonishing they can't get it.

But then again none of them have had to negotiate in their entire lives. It's so blatantly obvious to those with negotiating experience that it's hilarious.

I especially like the beginning where he disarms ANY argument about what they say about Trump since they spent almost 4 years being completely SILENT about Biden... Stephen Miller should have asked... " Can ONE journalist in this room tell the American people WHO was running the Executive Branch over the last 4 years? Or did you wake up on January 21st and decide that it was important NOW?"

The question is:

Why do so many Republicans have no ability to do the same?

Indeed RG, that is the question. We need to hold OUR guys to a higher standard than simply “better than the alternative”. Cause that bar is set at the knee high to a grasshopper level. Even a grifter like McConnell is a step up from Schumer et. al. But he’s still a piece of shit.

Yes it is clear they lack negotiation skills from gaming the system so long. I learned that you negotiate from one of three positions. A position of strength, neutrality or weakness. Not knowing your position has hazards.

Let me say, unconditionally: this is almost more schadenfreude than a human (or a cat) can withstand. The squealing has been glorious. The tears shed in defense of corrupt, criminally fraudulent activity has been sweeter than ambrosia.

BUT.

never forget ... these people are not capable of shame, so never expect them to just "get it". And I mean that quite literally; their upbringing and bizarro-world education renders them incapable of experiencing shame. That's why you see the "404 File Not Found" look on their faces, instead of anything resembling a blush, or a dipped head.

Expand full comment

"these people are not capable of shame"

I would argue that the shame of having different opinions is what has locked them in their ideological prisons. Psyops climate denier, antivaxxer, racist, homophobe shaming is what keeps them in their place. It is egoic self righteous arrogance in their ignorant belief of moral superiority that prevents them from admitting they are wrong.

I'll carefully disagree. I don't believe they recognize themselves as having different opinions. They've grown up in silos, and believe that they have the *only* correct opinions. There absolutely are hustlers behind the scenes, making use of these useful idiots - but the folks with the deer-on-the-highway looks on their faces are NOT them. These are the true believers. (Insane Leftist behavior always makes more sense when you see them as religious zealots, not criminals trying to work a scam.)

Expand full comment

And they don't in any sense believe that those who disagree have a right to be free or even alive. And they believe that they have experienced a literal coup d'etat by an authoritarian dictator who with his staff is committing crimes against humanity. This fight has been taking place for over 100 years, and it's going to take over 100 years of fighting back and never letting down.

Expand full comment

"and it's going to take over 100 years of fighting back and never letting down."

I think the fight could be over in the next 4 years if the depth's of corruption are exposed. People don't like being lied to. The Left are going to have a hard time clinging to their delusions in the face of massive evidence. Blind hatred will be all they have left which will further marginalize them.

Expand full comment

This is a Fourth Turning phase change. It's not gonna take a hundred years. Give it another five years...maybe.

Could be less.

Expand full comment

People are sick of polarity. The phase change will come from those who have solutions based on how cause and effect works in the real world. Everyone has something they can do to make the world a better place. This is where our common humanity lies and how inclusiveness can happen naturally rather than being shoved down our throats through racist division.
