there seems to be a lot of blame getting handed out in cryptoville at the moment and everyone is pointing fingers at everyone.
and honestly, it’s kinda fun. every day is like christmas morning!
obviously, one of the big questions has been “should we have seen this coming?”
cuz it kinda seems like it.
i mean, leaving aside the HUGE win for nominative determinism of “madoff with your cash” and “fried the bank, man” just look.
clearly, ponzi has a phenotype.
(and clearly it has put on a few pounds since the roaring 20’s)
and lost a lot of vim and verve in the last decade or so
but in the end, it’s just the same kinds of accidents we’ve always had
like, exactly the same
you get a fund that can print its own tokenized money in a captive exchange and basically run a fully blown hyperinflationary boom and bust to rival zimbabawe in just a couple short years.
i mean, how did you think it was going to end?
and while some may ascribe eldritch powers
in the end, it was really a pretty pedestrian theft:
and it’s not like they kinda didn’t warn you with that “effective altruism” schtick
of course, not everyone lost out
and a lot of powerful people were made to look stupid, so that’s sort of a win.
and of course,
but, alas there is really no one who can fix this now.
(or is there?)
and so perhaps we need to start focusing on how to prevent the next one
“stuffing lockers for the collective good.”
(hey, it used to work…)
but until then, we’ll need solutions
i mean, what choice do we have?
it’s not like you can just train these people for a new career…
Now do Ukraine and the Democrat party!
Right to jail, right away. With an offer for a slightly better cell if he flips on another major player. All the way up the chain. For everything.
It's a good start.
