i have no idea whether and to what extent this is true, but they certainly seem sufficiently deranged and desperate to hide the divergent unemployment rates, fading economic performance vs expectation, prop up the welfare and rent abatement dependency, and to generate a sense of crisis to prevent US elections from returning to their more reliable and accountable pre 2020 formats.
but if they do do this, i have a simple prediction:
this will be the most ignored presidential order in american history and it will be wonderful.
this will break the US into free states and petty dictatorships and the A/B test will be so glaringly bad for the lockdown states that it will discredit health agencies for a generation.
the politicians who push such pernicious policy will be ruined and their naked attempts at cultivated dependence, utter non-accountability, and election manipulation will simply become so blatant that they will lose the whole middle.
these policies failed last time. they inflicted unprecedented human harm for literally zero benefit. they will fail again and this time, the vast majority are going to see it plainly.
lockdown implementation was possible because so many were rendered so afraid that their critical faculties failed them. 2020 was not so much a test of reasoning as a test for “what percentage of your reason can you retain when stood on your head, alienated from your peers, and relentlessly terrorized with limbic system overload?”
and the results were as expected: not much. not much at all. most people freeze in foxholes. that’s just a basic human trait.
so we surrendered the enlightenment to a gaslightenment because too many were too frightened to resist.
but it’s not going to happen again.
too many know the trick now. these are veteran troops that have now built support networks and connections. too many are inoculated against this fear mongering and too many leaders have remembered themselves and remembered how to lead free people.

I think that if the White House is SERIOUS about doing lockdowns, as Jack Pro believes, it is only because they think they have enough leverage to force Florida and Texas -- arguably the Red State leaders -- to heel. But I now so many that love the drama, love the money, love being catered to, love the excuses of not going to work, seeing aging relatives and pulling up their boot straps to get on with living. I talked to a guy who was "back in the gym" after over a year of staying at home and obviously ordering food to be delivered to his door. Our gym has been open since last May- it was a great excuse for him to "not work out"- and now I am seeing it with this "scariant". Makes one's head spin!
