UK cabinet members resigning in disgust
the smarter rats are fleeing the HMS boris and this trend is going global. the great unravelling is nigh.
governments lie. of course they do. always have, always will. but some governments lie more than others and the last 3 years has been unlike anything i have ever experienced. my friends who grew up in the soviet union are saying things like “now you know.”
the current crop of mendacious muppetry DBA ”global leaders” lies all the time. about everything. science, economics, the economy, their plans, your life, and even what happened last tuesday. we’ve reached the point where if you asked these people for directions to the corner store, you’d fully expect to be sent to azerbaijan.
these endless attempts at spin and subterfuge have gone from baffling to grating to outright alienating.
we’re long past the tipping point where every new unctuous utterance just erodes credibility further. and even the politicians are getting embarrassed and jumping ship.
the UK saw two massive and strident resignations today. and the reasons are telling.
rishi sunak, chancellor of the exchequer, (basically treasury secretary) did not mince words.
“The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously.
I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.”
this is a minister flat out saying he’s not willing to tell the party lies anymore.
and from a guy who lies as fluently rishi, that’s really saying something.
read the red box. how could one interpret that than “i’m not telling any more whoppers to the people for you BOJO.”
that’s pretty stunning candor from a sitting secretary.
and he was not alone.
health minister sajid javid did the same.
he’s a bit more circumspect, but also lets boris really have it with both barrels on “you are neither a good decision maker nor possessed of strong values.”
he accuses him of having failed to learn from that which should have been humbling.
and he too will have no more of the farce, a rebuke all the more stinging for coming from one who has championed such awful policy himself. (or, if one is of a cynical bent, perhaps a smokescreen to run away before the consequences of having pushed such pabulum land.)
he pledges allegiance to party, but denounces the tow-headed tyrant.
this is striking stuff and a profound sign of the times. all manner of economic, social, scientific, and health dogma keeps crashing into reality and foundering.
fantasy can sound great for a while, but in the long run, reality is undefeated.
and it’s starting to come unglued all over the world.
the US fabulism has reached levels that have moved government pronouncement into the realm of dog whistles and then raised the octaves until not even rover thinks it’s real.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said the US economy is in “strong shape” and the central bank can reduce inflation to 2% while maintaining a solid labor market, even though that task has become more challenging in recent months.
then we get:
POWELL: WE UNDERSTAND BETTER HOW LITTLE WE UNDERSTAND INFLATION.
from the agency that has predicted 147 of the last 0 soft landings, even the bears were floored.
and yellen at the people with more made up missive was having the opposite effect of that desired.
this is clearly nonsense.
and the president who has killed leasing, exploration, pipelines, and imposed damaging and counter productive sanctions that are literally upping russian oil sales while hamstringing the rest of the world blaming ”putin,” “profiteering,” and “gas station owners” is not helping.
when you’ve even lost jeff bezos, you’re in real trouble as a left leaning leader.
there is a reason that consumer confidence just fell to the lowest level since the series began in the late 70’s.
the political incompetence bubble is bursting and the results are savage.
but a strong rebound in “malign creativity” is expected. so at least that’s something…
this whole gang all over the world that ran on “being the adults in charge” appear to need some serious babysitting because they are not serious people.
they are serious problems.
from the netherlands to norway to canada to the UK, people are reaching the breaking point with the concatenated calamity of carnival misrule by entitled technocrats and deluded demagogues.
even their own inner circles are starting to bail.
is this trend coming to america? probably.
one wonders about the timely departure of jennifer “baghdad barbie” psaki. if anyone were going to know when the messaging was all going to come apart, it would have been her and she certainly was not sticking around to let the door hit her in the butt on the way out. that’s for pscertain.
the time of unraveling is upon us and it’s going to start moving fast now.
get your popcorn before the shortages start.
Hopefully this will bring down Boris, since he took a historic 80 seat majority and p*ssed it up the wall, furiously implementing Agenda 2030 instead of his manifesto.
Having said that, Rishi and Jabbit are no loss to the nation — not a sliver of principle between them.
A pox on all their houses!
Sajid Javid is a despicable person, totally unfit to be U.K. Health Secretary. He ruthlessly coerced NHS staff and others into accepting Covid vaccines that would not prevent them from catching or transmitting the virus and which were potentially unsafe.
If he really cared about improving public health he would have put more positive effort into encouraging healthy eating and exercise, and he would not have resigned in an transparent attempt to advance his career.
